firing lawyer..maybe???
If I dismiss my lawyer after entering into a contract on a contingency(sp?) basis, and settle with the insurance company myself, can the lawyer make the insurance company pay them, or will the lawyer come after me when I receive the settlement?

Depends on the laws of your state and the language of the agreement.
