settlement question
Hi! Everyone. Thank you for replying my question so far.

I was given offer from IC for 60K regarding C&R.
My TD benfits ended Apr 2011. My disability rating is 19%, previous company refused to return to work due to my disability, my PD payments are 19K and retraining voucher is 6K. So IC counted 35K as the cost of future medical care I think. (19K + 6K + 35K = 60K)

Do you think 60K is reasonable?

I feel I can't return to work with my current back pain condition. I live in CA. I have no attorney.

RE: settlement question
35K for future medical is nothing, one surgery would wipe that out.

You really need to think about leaving the medical open.

RE: settlement question
have they made you a C&R offer or are you throwing out the first number?
how likely is your back surgery-- 50/50? 10% chance?
how soon? within 2-3 yrs?
4-7?
7-10?
what were your medical costs the last 12 months?
(you can ask for a print out from the carrier..)

with surgery you could be out of work for 6 mths or longer;
what about $$ to live on?
what if it goes bad?

what medical are you using now?
is it more or less this past 6 mths?

RE: settlement question
19% ? that aint nothing!

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
