Long day at the Workman's Compensation Office. I brought the paperwork and they said it was from the Disability Evaluation Unit. I tried to get some input as where to go from here. They asked if I had a lawyer. I told them no and they siad I have to work with the insurance company for the settlement and medical as I am at MMI. I honestly thought they were going to suggest or offer help with this, but nope.
Anyway, I am rated at 78%. I called the insurance company, told them the amount they offered I would not take and they upped their offer to $62500 to close everything out. They said I have a week to let them know.
The reasearch I did today, I am supposed to get PPD payments, lifetime pension and medical. Either I get monthly payments with open medical or a lump sum buyout. Is that accurate?
Any idea what the PPD payment is and the pension? I was at the hospital today to see what the future medical might be. They were no help at all. Any thoughts where I could look to get an idea? Or is the offer from them good?
