A tragady here in my neighborhood
Last night, over off the paved road, about a mile from my house, we saw a bunch of flashing lights, police, sherrifs, ambulances. They were right in front of my good friends house, so of course I called to see if they were okay. They were. Then the county SWAT team showed up( none of use even knew there was one). My friend lives just across the road from where they were all going. The little 12 year old boy who lives there came to her house on his bicycle. His daddy had gotten drunk, and began to beat his stepmom, the boy had called his grandparents( his dad's folk) they had come and his dad had also beat grandpa, so the little boy then called 911. He was able to run to my friend's house. The man then took the other family members hostage. by 10 pm he had let the hostages go, but said he was going to kill as many police as possible before they killed him.
At 1:30 am we all heard machine gun fire then the authorities started to disburse. We do not know, how it ended at this time. I am begging, please, please pray for this little boy, as the pain and sorrow I know he is bearing is heartwrenching. And for that mans other family. But mainly the little boy is breaking my heart. He told my friend," Today was my first day of 6th grade, and I have homework, but my book is in there." It is too sad for words. Thank you all, Sithie The good news is,"You can get used to anything." The bad news is,"You can get used to anything." :-) Sithie |

RE: A tragady here in my neighborhood
I pray for this little boy and his family. I also pray that his mommy will get away from this man and not excuse his actions. I am sorry to see this happen anywhere. Some days I just wonder what goes on in peoples heads, but then again, I think I'm glad I don't know.

RE: A tragady here in my neighborhood
Sithie....I wish I could call you...But there is something wrong with my cable line that works with my phone to call out. They tell me that it will be fixed by 5:00pm....I will call you.
That is so sad for this little boy...as soon as I read your post I stopped and asked God to please help him through this time. No child should ever have to see this. I sure hope the laws you have in your state are the same as we have here...if children are present in any kind of domestic attack...the laws are alot harder. I hope this mans pays dearly for what he has done. Hope the lady and Grandpa are both doing alright. Prayers for all the family...what a aweful thing for a family to have to go through. |

Sithie this is horrible. This young boy must be terrified, but he is so strong and courageous to be able to think as fast as he did and react as fast as he did. He is in my prayers. Let me know if I can send anything, like letter etc. Red

RE: A tragady here in my neighborhood
Hi Sithie, I'm glad at least there was no one fatally injured, and the Boy has both of His Parents still. My Prayers will be with the Family, and you should be commended for doing all you can to Help! It's all too easy to turn a blind eye to others Today, especially when you Hurt and are not well, but you stepped right in and Helped, and I think that its Great!

RE: A tragady here in my neighborhood
Sithie,
What a horrible tragedy for this family! Talk about a life changing experience...this is one that will effect the child for as long as he lives. I pray for his pyshc. recovery and all the wonderful suppost he gets from his loving family members and caring neighbors like you! You are a gem, truely. Take care, Lilly
