Need Advice!!!
Just wondering if anyone has been told that because of the pain you are suffering that you are physically, emotionally and mentally ill. and then sends you to a sike hospital??? And i think the doctor said psycology ill but i cant remember. Been on work comp since Sept 06. And they have caused me so much greif and pain that I am really having a lot of anxiety attacks. My pain level is so high I feel as if I cant go on anymore... But i struggle... I guess i am scared, I feel as if I am going of the deep end and that I am going crazy... Thanks!!

RE: Need Advice!!!
many of us if not all have had depression problems because of our injuries when you are in pain for a long time you get deoressed about it ad into it they cant or wont fix ya or give pain relief you get depressed...

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Need Advice!!!
I have been in the system sense July 05. Just this past 2 months i have been given the ok to see a Phys and a counsler. So hang in there help is out there. Also have your treating Doc write you a script to see a Phys. I am in Virginia and if the treating Doc says you need to be seen W.C has to ok it. They finally let me go i am being treated for PTSD and PCS. Mind you i also had to get the lawyer involved.

You see that you take care of yourself first. The heck with all the rest you come first. Then everything else will fall in place.

RE: Need Advice!!!
Dear Lemon,
I know how you feel, we had up until our injury control of our lives,
now we have been reduced to a level of living I wouldn't allow an animal to experience.
I don't have any answers for you but I hope you can find the strength you once had and draw on it.
Good luck

RE: Need Advice!!!
Welcome to the Boards Lemon! I'm so sorry you are going through all of this, w/c is a hard road to travel! Just keep in mind that Knowledge is Power, and Patience is a valuable weapon!! Learn as much as you can, be prepared, and Patiently wait them out. Patience is Free, but all of these Dr.'s they are sending you to costs them Money!! Take advantage of the Care you are receiving to make yourself well, that's what it's there for, and if you don't have an Attorney, you may want to consider one to take the Legal Stress off of you. W/c is designed to make you Better, we all know they make us jump through unbelievable Hoops to receive what I and most would call sub-standard care, but if you hang in there and play your Cards right you may come out ahead! You may never have back what you once had, your Health, but with Patience and a sound game plan with a good w/c Certified Attorney you may be able to make them pay in the end!! I hate to even say this, it should have never been this way for even ONE injured worker, but Comp. is like a game of Chess, and the person who makes the most educated and calculated moves wins!! Plan your Work, Work Your Plan and beat them with Patience!!! I Wish You the Very Best, and I Hope all goes Well!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

Lemon

What you are experiencing is a part of the stages of grief.

This happens when there is a loss for any reason.

I believe Red posted the stages a short time ago, perhaps
someone can relocate it and post it again.

Hi lemon..Sorry for all your troubles..but you have just done a very smart thing by coming and finding other injuried workers. We do know and understand what you are saying and are going through. The first thing I want to say to you..is if you are not being treated for depression...please talk with your Dr. And if things become more then you can handle mentally...please go the ER department and talk with someone right away. Dealing with depression and pain can be just to much sometimes. It doesn't not mean you are weak or worthless...you would be amazed how many of us here deal with the same thing. You are not crazy. Although after dealing with the WC system for very long you can start to wonder if you are. Please take some time to sit down and read alot of the posts here...you will learn alot...Also if you do not have an attorney...get one quick. You will also find an "Off Topic" area just below the "Injuried Worker" please join us there. We talk about alot of things...you can vent find support...laugh...cry...play a game. It is just a place we all go to relax...and get away from it all. You will see we also argue some...we are kind of like a big ole family...so please just join us. Don't be shy...just join any conversation. Start a thread and tell us all about yourself. And WELCOME to the forum. You will be glad you joined....just knowing you aren't alone...is so nice.

RE: Need Advice!!!
Hi Lemon and Welcome. The others that have posted have given you sound advice. We all go through exactly what you are going through and I am so sorry that you have to walk this path too. A Certified Worker's Comp Lawyer can help in the legal aspect of everything but they do nothing for the day-to-day grief. Here on this forum you will find that we cry together, laugh together, we vent and there is always someone that will listen when we need them. It really helps get through the day-to-day feelings. We also have specialists here that can help guide you.

Please feel free to PM me if you need someone to talk to.

Deb

RE: Need Advice!!!
Hi Lemon...WelcomeBig Grin

Most of the people on this board (myself included) can relate to the evils that stress, pain, lack of funds and proper care from WC jerking you around ...puts on the body and mind. You are far from being alone. Ask the doctor for anxiety & depression meds asap. Come here anytime to vent, complain, or whatever. There are many good listeners hereSmile
Take care, Lilly Smile

RE: Need Advice!!!
Hi Lemon, I'm sorry you're hurting. Remember that there are lots of real human beings (behind these words on your computer screen) that are there for you and rooting for you. Personally, I thought I was not a candidate for depression meds until I just let go and tried them. Life-savers they can be. Also, some form of therapy for me to learn the skill of comforting myself when I hurt--physically or emotionally. Someone said to educate yourself by reading this forum--I couldn't agree more--knowledge is power and no one can take that away...no one. Keep writing and sharing. Thank you.
