Question medical provider lien
Hello! I'm an interpreter in CA for i/ws who don't speak English, and I'm trying to educate myself on this subject. I thank you in advance for all the valuable information I found in this place. It's a shame the i/w can't benefit from reading these posts... Anyway that's why I'm here.... I have a question... One of the i/w I work with is worried because his employer doesn't have WC insurance. So, he wonders 1) who is paying for his doctor's appointments, medicines, etc? He has a lawyer (the kind that doesn't return calls, etc)... I think most likely the doctors are working on a lien. But what if they don't get pay when the case is closed. 2)Will he have to pay those medical bills?? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: medical provider lien
Cool
in most cases it is illegal not to have comp insurance.
Shy
california, like most states has an Uninsured Employers Fund, that pays the claims for those employers.
