SSDI and TTD offset???
I'm not sure what the offset will be between my ttd and ssdi. I've been told that my ssdi amount will be 1800 plus my four children will also receive a check for around 900(total from ssdi 2700 per month). My ttd check is 2400 per month. My 80% of average weekly rate is 3200 per month. Is the offset (2700-2400=offset) or (3200-2400=offset)? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

RE: SSDI and TTD offset???
the total cannot be more than 80% of pre injury earnings....I do not believe your childrens will count on that...

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

Thanks 1171 for the .gov site info. There was a perfect example of figuring the reduction on that site. I prey that my appeal is approved.

RE: SSDI and TTD offset???
Are you on your first appeal? Mine took until the hearing and that was over 2 years from the time I applied. In my area I was told it takes a year and a half after your second denial before I would have a hearing and it was just over that before I did. Good luck I sure hope yours goes faster then that

RE: SSDI and TTD offset???
This is my first appeal. My application was denied because SSA thought my surgeon could fix me and in their words, "My condition would not last for more than 12 months". They were wrong. Now 3 doctors agree that I'm disabled and 2 of them are hand picked by the IC. I have a disability attorney this time. She told me there is a 12-14 month wait for an appeal in Alabama. They will probably deny me this time because I have a pulse.

RE: SSDI and TTD offset???
Good luck and just be ready for a long wait, that way maybe you will get a surprise and get it quickly. Not sure but I would think this part is the same since SSDI is Federal but it's only after they turn you down twice does it go for a hearing so your 12-14 month wait may not start until after the next time they rule on this. Your doctors saying you are disabled means nothing to them, my wifes doctors say the same thing about her but she is still fighting them. The doctor SSDI sent her to also said her doctors where right but they still turned her down. They act like this money comes out of their pay checks or something
