RE: Questions, work comp.
Hi, new here but wanted to post anyhow. Background, 3 blown discs L3-S1. L5 slipped 7 mm forward. I was fortunate as I had picked my surgeon. I had to wait from end of May 08 till end of Dec 08 before I had a 2 level fusion with hardware. Both he and WC Dr said a 3 level with hardware had not been been completely successful in past. Of course minimum 9 months wait for next surgery. Now get this, Dec 08 till Apr 10 because insurance wanted ALL the tests done again. MMI Oct '10.

Finally WC court next week to see what the final verdict is. Was given 65% total body PD by my atty dr. Do not know what their dr said yet.

So, is there permanent nerve damage due to having to wait? You bet. Now, how do I get them to pay for that?

that's the purpose of the imnpairment rating and disability payments: to pay for the permanent damage.

RE: Questions, work comp.
Tim I am from Kansas and we use the AMA guidelines for impairment ratings.

I received a rating for the lumbar spine. The radiculpathy put me in a different catagory for the impairment rating, resulting in a higher rating.
