RE: A Question about Life after settlement
Well, maybe you can take an internet course??? I had to change a few of my lecture courses to internet courses when my back was messing with me. That allowed me to do the work at two or three in the morning. Just a thought.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

CASA volunteers get to know the child and speak to everyone involved in the child’s life, including their family members, teachers, doctors, lawyers, social workers, and others.

The information they gather and their recommendations help the court make informed decisions. CASA volunteers commit to a child until the case is closed and the child is in a safe, permanent home.

And y'all know why this is a project close to my heart. It's not even something that I have talked to Randy about. I want to make sure that it something that I can physically do before I commit myself to it. But the more that I think about it.. the more I know I will be doing something in this area of learning.

And there is nothing that says I can't keep going to school even after having earned one degree. I am sure that there is some cross over in courses between the 2 programs.. business and criminology.. and I already have 23 credits from when I went to school back in Michigan in 95-96 that will transfer to the community college here.

RE: A Question about Life after settlement
Bummer... there is no doubt that the reality of what stage of life you are in or I was in when I first was retired from working a job is a shock. My shock lasted almost a year and then I found all of you and that gave me something to look forward to for almost 2 more years. As all good things do, that changed also, so I found that I needed to have something more in my life also. Thankfully, my life is filled with different crafts and different activities that actually make me wonder where I ever fit a job into. It does take time, but it can happen where your mind, heart, and life fills itself with new opportunities and new adventures. My daughter said something very wise to me just the other day. I said something such as, "I believe another dream is dying.. she said, "Mom, when one dream dies, then it leaves room to make another." How wise is that.. gotta love her that is for sure... but she is so right. I am attending church more regularly again, and may possibly start with working with the childrens church. And if you know me at all... you do know that I love children and I also love teaching.. so as one door closes, another will open. Ly Red

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: A Question about Life after settlement
Hello UA,

I hope you have better luck than I did with the past credits. I attended the same community college I am going to now, back in 92,93,and 94. I was not able to use those credits because it was over ten years ago.

With that being said, I am aware of what CASA is all about. I think that would be great for you. You know what they say. "If you enjoy your job, it really isn't work".

Take Care
