My Dog is dead

My friend of 14 years had to be put down today. He ate 3 swallowed 3 baby socks 2 weeks ago and they caused a major obstruction.

His name was Cocoa. He was my buddy; I miss him big time.

freebird we get so attached to our pets, mine is just like a child to me, she is with me 24/7. I am getting a second King Charles Spaniel on Jan 19, then we will have two. or should i say i will have one for each hip. The one we have is my shadow everywhere i go in the house she is with me. Again I am so sorry for your loss and I know the dog will be missed.

I'm so sorry freebird for your loss.... We had to put our almost 12 year old lab down in July... I thought I was strong enough, I cried like a baby. He became a part of our life and was more loyal then any human would ever be. He was diag with bone cancer and in time took his life...... So I know what you are saying... but he is now in doggy heaven playing with our lab.........Take care...

I am so sorry for your loss. We had to put 3 of our fur kids down in the last yr due to age. Our kids first dog who was 18. Our grumpy protecting Shar Pei who was 14. It was then I decided to get a puppy so our lab/rott could pass on his wonderful ways. He was 14 as well. He did a wonderful job before his passing. I told myself I wouldn't have my dogs that close in age again because it was so hard on me. Then I went and did it again. Ones a yr old and my boys a yr and a half. I have a 15 yr old still as well. Knock on wood...we have a few more yrs with him.

I am so sorry for the loss of your furry family member. It's truly rough to loose someone that has been a part of your life for so long.

My little Binkers is now 12 yo. I thought that we were going to loose hime the week before Christmas. He was in rough shape and the vet ended up keeping him over night, giving him IV anti-biotics and fluids. It took him a while to come back from it .. but he seems to be ok now. It's going to tear me to pieces when he does go. But at least the vet found a few other problems that we can now take care of and be aware of. He's getting doggy steps next week as she found spondylythesis in his spine, which explains why he hasn't been sleeping with me lately.

I wish there was a way that we could help make this loss easier on you, but at least you know that he is happy and playing like a pup again where he has gone.
