PPD Rating
Hi everyone. I have been scheduled for my PPD rating next Friday and was hoping someone can tell me what to expect...do's and don't etc.

My rating is with a chiropractor which is a bit scary LOL. All I know is NV uses the 5th edition AMA guide. My attorney said he usually goes with his clients but just happens to be out of town that week.

I'm having my right shoulder rated. Surgery included...rotator cuff repair with anchor, subacromial decompression, clavicle resection and removal of bone spur.

Thanks for your help.

Merry Christmas!!!

RE: PPD Rating
measurements will be taken:
range of motion, atrophy, strength, sensory deficit.
make sure the doctor has your treatment records.

RE: PPD Rating
Thanks 1171.

I was told all I need to bring is the MRI films but I intend to bring the surgical report as well. My case manager said they are sending my entire file, should I bring all the PT records and Dr. appt records as well just in case? When I went for the FCE the center I went to didn't even know I had surgery LOL. Doesn't instill much faith in the fact that they will have the appropriate records this time.

Thanks again 1171, you always answer anytime I have questions.

Have a Merry Christmas!!!

RE: PPD Rating
I had another one done a month ago, and still waiting for the report.. Mine was done with a dr that is in the same clinic as my ortho and 2 other drs, I did how ever have my chiro/pt/ot and my primary and phisitrist send all info to him about 10 days before the appoinment.... He had all records there when I arived, he was a very nice but professional dr and he took his time evaluating me. Like 1171 said they take measurements, while there he discovered I had bone spurs trapped in the muscles around the hip and he was the only dr that had pointed that out.... Mine took about 90 min, he was only to do the hip and pelvis. He did my back and shoulder even though a different dr did it over a year ago. My ncm was upset when he told her, so I am really curious to know how what he came up with..... I was told yesterday that his dictation was finnished and returned to him for a signature..........

Thanks Bronco...
I'm so ready for all of this to be over! I don't know how some of you put up with this for years and years. I'm 1 year and 6 months from time of injury and I can't wait to get away from the WC system. I hope yours works out for the best Smile I'll update when I get done with my appt Thurs.

I wonder, since he is a chiropractor, if he'll give me an adjustment while I'm there LOL. My neck and upper back are killing me because of my shoulder issues Big Grin

RE: PPD Rating
Rather odd that a chiro is rating a shoulder.

RE: PPD Rating
i don't think so.
the law allows any qualified physician to do a rating.
a shoulder is certainly within the chiropractic training.

RE: PPD Rating
I deal mostly with KY, where chiros are limited to the spine and adjacent tissue, which a shoulder is not. Not familiar with NV law.
