Abdominal pain (scar tissue) WI
I have suffered from abdominal pain for 2 1/2 years. I saw a GI specialist (surgeon) back in 1998 and said it was scar tissue and would adventualy fade away... Pain never got better, and has really been intolerable lately and got to see him again today.. It seems I have scar tissue trapping either the nerves or muscles in the abdomin. He says no surgery will help and from the pelvis re construction has left me with major scar tissue.. And if he would operate it would just get worse... I cannot laydown/sit straight up/ or even go to the bathroom without severe knife cutting pain. He is reffering me to a pm that will do injections. I have had 13 injections 7 rfa's in the low back in the last 2 years and now they want to start in the abdomin..... When is enough, enough..?
Is there even a imparment rating done for abdomin scar tissue..? |

RE: Abdominal pain (scar tissue) WI
workers comp is voluntary; you can stop treatment at any time.
they would rate the restrictions not the cause. |

I mean (being serious) is the dr going to give a restriction to only do #2 once a day or never.....? |

Wisconsin has it's own impairment system.
I would discuss it with your doctor. while pain would be a factor there would be others as well. here is some information on rating pain http://dwd.wisconsin.gov/dwd/publication...7761-P.htm it would qualify as an unscheduled rating and factors affecting earning capacity would be used. |

Bronco, taking narcs doesnt help either...after a bad pain flare up I have to deal with constipation from the extra narcs.....I eat a bag of popcorn everyday....its fiber....those of us with cronic pain not only deal with our injuries but the side effects from the pain meds for our injuries...you will have to find what makes you "loose".... for me its popcorn along with coffee......But come winter its hell to keep the pain down and the pipes clear.....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

Amen to that Jayne. I have been my GI doc office and even hospitalized for stomach issues that I never had before, WC refuses to pay for any of it, so my private insurance pays for it, but some of these co=pays are making me broke. |

RE: Abdominal pain (scar tissue) WI
Thanks Jayne, I'm a popcorn freek, always have and always will.. Like you I eat a bad a day too and in the morning I have 3 to 4 cups of coffee. And most times its clock work, but also depends on how many narcs I took the day before... I did my homework til wee hours of the morning and am not satisfied with the dr's oppinion.... I know he wont operate due to all the scar tissue in the pelvis region but, there is one area of the scar tissue that grows bigger through out the day. And to me that sounds like obstruction, the cheapest alternative is to at least make a small cut and go in with a scope... I see my treating dr on the 23rd and my primary on the 30th, I am going to push them in to doing the scope to make sure its not causing obstruction...

jayne Wrote:sounds like you know your body.....If your Dr will listen to you...... And that is the big IF... My phisitrist has known about this since mid 2008. Although he ordered pt and was getting deep tissue massages and had really helped.. Then once I was in the pain clinic they brushed it off every time and gave me lidacane patches. Then when I was pulled from work the second time I was back in pt and they were doing it again because it stopped me from doing core work.. Then sept they said there is nothing more they could do untill the abdomin pain was taken care of.. It has taken all this time to get the appoinment with the gi and to get his oppinion that more less its to late, just makes my blood boil..... I'm not blaming wc but that pain clinic had done me no justice and its sad because I wasted about a year of pain and suffering. My primary is not in my oppinion the smartest apple in the bunch but when he doesnt know he will make things happen to find out... I dont mind being told whats wrong, but run some dam tests first..... |
