FCE...WHAT A JOKE!!! Results In
Well, I had my FCE and I must say...WHAT A JOKE!
First, he sat me down and said, "I don't have all of your medical records but I have some, so you have arthritis in your shoulder huh?". HA! He only had the records from their WC clinic that said I had a strained shoulder and arthritis. I looked and him and asked if he was serious (really thought he was pulling my leg guess not), that is when I realized how screwed I was!I went on to explain to him that I had 4 procedures done during surgery 7 months ago and that is why I was there for the FCE. Thankfully I had enough sense to bring my job description with me because he didn't have that either! It amazes me, the IC definitely made sure to call during my appt. to make sure I showed up but they couldn't make sure the facility had the info necessary to evaluate me...UUGGGHHH My results will probably mean that I will be looking for new employment soon. I have a 5 lb restriction lifting from knuckle to shoulder and shoulder to overhead on an occasional frequency and zero lbs under the frequent and constant columns. 20 lbs occasionally bilaterally and 10 lbs frequently. What bothers me most is this was done with me mainly lifting a box (with weights being added) from one level to the next and dumbells of different weights from floor to above shoulder. Pushing a box, pulling a box and walking on a treadmill. He scribbled notes and after less than an hour he tells me the restrictions. I find it hard to swallow that this one man (no computer program, etc...), after seeing me for less than an hour, HOLDS MY ENTIRE FUTURE IN HIS HANDS!!! Unbelievable, scary and downright WRONG!!! Thanks for listening...any idea how long it takes the IC to get the info to my employer? They are self insured. Just wondering how long I might still have a job to go to
