all benefits due to WC clients
I live in Michigan and over the last several months I have been in a position where I have had to deal with a WC claim. Over all the process has been good although I do get funny looks from health care professionals when they realize that they are dealing with an individual using the WC process.
After various attempts to resolve this injury through wait and see and then PT it was time for further testing. A MRI was done on my lt shoulder and it was determined that I had a rotator cuff injury and would need surgery to repair it. During the period of approximately 10 weeks to the date of surgery I continued my normal work activities but on wieght restrictions. My surgery happened a short time ago and now I am at home resting. I believe I will be going back to work on 12/20 on a restricted duty. Here is the real question: what benefits are due to me as far and things I am not going to be able to do while the shoulder is healing. In Michigan this would include snow removal on my driveway. I know if a person can not take care of home type duties: cleaning the house hold chores and such or driving to appointments the WC insurance are suppose to take care of that expense but what about thngs like snow removal. I would normally take care of it but I will be unable to do it do to my limitations so should this be covered by home care or am I going to have to bare the total expenses of this? Any help or case law or past decisions woud be very much appreciated because we could be talking about hundreds of dollars to take care of this potentially costly activity. Thanks |

That could be helpful but I was really hoping to find someone with similiar experience or problems similiar that might have already discovered the answers to these questions. I appreciate your respinse and I will try to make sense out of the above link. Thanks |

RE: all benefits due to WC clients
I receive VA Benefits for my knee. At 20% disability. My knee have been giving me alot of trouble since September. I am a Mail Carrier. Recently, my knee gave out and I fell down some stairs and broke my leg and ankle. Do anyone know if I can file a secondary claim through VA even though I'm receiving Workman's Comp. A Secondary Claim would be for an increase in my disability.

RE: all benefits due to WC clients
its possiable I suggest you contact your VA worker...are you retired with a 20% or did you just get out with a 20% disabilty? makes a difference....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....
