RE: Pain, etc
Ah Dipweed... i am so sorry. It seems we do get one thing after another. How's the pain level? Any better? When do you see the surgeon again? Start PT?

RE: Pain, etc
I see surgon on the 22 of this month, which will be a month in sling. Hopefully he will say to start using the arm for every day activities, but don't do any lifting or overhead, or behind back (all could tear the sutures holding my sholder in the socket).
I want to start PT NOW!
Funny today... NCM called asked how I was doing....
I said "Ummm, ahhh, Ummm.... ugh... well, I guess I'm doing ok, considering"
She was like "You don't sound too convinced"
I told her that I'm in pain, and I think i need a stronger anti-inflamitory. She asked what I'm taking now, I told her narcotic and advil. then the funny part...
She asked how my pain is compaired to before surgery...
I told her she was asking me to compair apples to oranges! The pain is DIFFERENT than pre-op. I told her to imagine the worst tooth ache ever, multiply it by 10, and put it in the sholder. That's what it's like.
Not like crying because it hurts so bad, but it hurts, hurts, hurts... and will NOT LET UP!
I told her that I understand it will be a long process recovering from this surgery, and that instead of asking me for progress reports, she really should be talking to my doctor. If she wants to know if I"m still alive or ask me my pain level, I can do that... but I'm not qualified to give her recovery reports or what not.
I told her also, that since the money person on my case told me I can chooes my physical theripist, I want to at least start out in the physical theripy office located at the Orthopedic clinic where the surgon works. She did ask why, and I told her that I would feel most comfortable starting out with one who has treated my surgon's patients who have had the same surgery, because they know the ins and outs of the beginning phases of recovery from this. The last thing I need is reinjury. I told her that is my BIGGEST fear! I don't want the knife again, because a STUPID PT pulls my arm out of socket and tears the sutures!
I told her I'm getting no sleep because of the contsant pain. I'm serious too.. it's 5AM and still can't sleep beccause not being able to relax because of this toothache like pain in my sholder....
I think I have went on and on and on enough for now. Will borow rent money from my dad, and will get that noterised paper stating that as of that day, I am current and up to date, and that serves as a reciept for payment up to that date.

RE: Pain, etc
NCMs most are nurses with no heart.....the ones with heart are working to help patients not hurt them

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Pain, etc
Hang in there Dip!! You're strong and you'll get through this, one way or another. I have been on Boards of one kind or another for a while, and I have seen many folks come and go, and you seem like a Fighter! It's going to be a Long Hard road, but you'll find your way through it and come out fine!! If this NCM starts to be too big of a Pain, and you have an Attorney, have them draft a Letter stating that they are to have no more contact with you, and to call your Attorney for any info. That's probably one of the Best things that ever happened to me, getting rid of my NCM!! As I've said before they are not all Bad, but the Bad to Good Ratio seems to be in Bads Favor!! Best of Luck and I Hope everything Goes Well and you get the PT you want!!!Wink

RE: Pain, etc
Sorry you're going through so much pain dipweed. I'm sure it seems like the 22nd will never get here...hold on, it's coming. Hopefully the surgeon will give you some different meds that will relieve some of the pain. There's nothing worse than a toothache or ear-ache!!!! Just thinking about how much your shoulder is hurting makes me feel so bad for you!!!!!!! I pray for God to comfort you dipweed.

Always love your cubs unconditionally...they are a gift from God and someday they'll pick your nursing home!!
