UPDATE-- ulnar nerve damage and surgery
I went to the surgeon yesteday not all that happy about it but that is life. The Dr. said the surgery needs to be done. I explained to him that I was now having pain in the elbow which travels up my arm. At any rate to make a long story short the order is for left cubital tunnel ulnar nerves transposition---- I think I got that right. I have to pick a date which is not going to be easy. He said I should take 3-4 weeks off work and that too is not going to happen. I told him they will just have to use my brain and some one else will have to do this typing thing. So he explained all this stuff to me. I told him I was going on vacation first. Which is to Cabos with 2 girlfriends from high school-- I am so excited. But I can't have the surgery when I get back because 3 weeks later I have to go out of town again to Las Vegas-------tough one huh? We are throwing my sister a 50 birthday party.

I have this new AWESOME boyfriend - OMG anyway we had a long converation last night about all this and decided that he will meet me in LV for an additional 3 days- one of which is his birthday and after we come back I will have the surgery.

No matter what that will suck too because it will be right before my holiday baking season. But he said he would help-------stir.

As all of you know there is never going to be a good time but I suppose doing this in a Texas winter which is really a fall-- is a lot better than doing it in the Texas HEAT.

So I will be practicing all of your hints and tips. I want all of you to know I appreciate everything you have shared.

OK I am off to work on all my injured workers.
I will stay in touch and hope to be able to help any I can .
Sending you all great hugs and wishes for painless days and nights

RE: ulnar nerve damage and surgery
Dallas...I know I really don't need to say this to someone with all you know. But please make you get a second opinion. Or have you already been to a few Dr's having all ave's checked. I have know become on that would make sure everything else has been done...before I would have any form of surgery...and as you know you are going into a big surgery...and one that effects your living hood...in someways...I sure hope I don't come across negative. I sure do not want any way...I have been working on wanting to have me back the postive at look at life as much as possible. But I also know if you are dealing with daily pain...you can't live that way..I am there daily now...I don't have to ask if you have had your Dr checked out to make sure you he has performed this surgery enough to have you feel comfort with him doing yours.

KNow to the good stuff.....how excited to be planning two vacations....good for you. But not as good as finding LOVE....so have you been hiding him in the closet..or is this just a new love. Come on now girl tell ALL...I am just kidding. It was nice to hear you will have someone around when you do have this surgery....but you better be for finding out before hand if he can cook....we don't need you starving because he can't boil water....lol But I guess he can order out...lol

Dallas...you will keep us know updated on the vacations and the new boy friend down in the "OFF TOPIC"section and thank you for keeping us updated on the surgery and please continue.

RE: ulnar nerve damage and surgery
Spring you are so sweet and I appreciate your concerns. The good thing is I know the best Drs. in Dallas. I have been seeing them on and off for 24 yrs. The surgeon is well known and he has one the best reputaions in the state. I have checked him out. In fact he does not even take WC anymore. He also does all the rodeo- cowboys---- a couple of cute ones came in there while I was waiting.
I have had this issue developing for over a year and knew in Feb I would have to do something, but it has gotten worse and I just need to do it and get through it. I probably would have continued putting it off it it had not started giving me a new pain that travels up my arm......I am also a quick healer and do pretty well in the high pain tolerance department.------>>>positive thinker<<<<<<<<<I am excited about the vacations especially since I can do them now---the boyfriend is new and friggin awesome-but we hit it off so well it is like pinch please- LOL----I will more enjoy letting you know about him since he makes me feel like I am 21 --that is a cool feeling.
Thank you for all your thoughts and suppot- I will be here.

The doctor for the High School Rodeo Association in my state is one of the top doctors in the state of Kansas. My daughter is a member of the association.

Sounds like you have a good doctor.

Good luck on your trip.
