Employer taking taxes out of TTD check

My son's friend was seriously injured this summer during his part-time job. (Almost had his hand amputated). He's been asking me questions about WC and TTD, Tuesday he mentioned 'taxes' being taking out of his weekly TTD check. Yesterday he showed me his TTD check and sure enough Federal, SS, Medicare and our state taxes all taken out. After 5 years of my WC tragedy I thought I'd seen just about everything. This really takes the cake, how do we handle this? Lawyer (he doesn't want to go that way), call the state, etc. Their WC insurance company is one of the larger. BB |

I don't know for sure but I would say contact who ever issues the checks and see what they say.

I would call and speak to the claims adjuster about it. Then if need to call the state wc omsbudsman. They should help you.

are you sure he's getting less TTD then he's entitled by law?
some employers pay full salary in lieu of TTD and are allowed deductions on the difference. |
