An update on my sister & family
I wanted to update on my sister, Millie & family.

I was last Sunday, Oct 3th she lost her husband. He was hunting in a pasture and was in a deer stand when he died. We do know he died of natural causes and death was instant.

Two weeks earlier my sister & husband buried their Grandson, Garrett.

My brother-in-law had cancelled the life insurance policys last year, couldn't make the monthly payment.

The family lives in a rural community with 98% of the school district being made up of dirt/gravel roads. The community has been awesome! The middle school football team and school put on a chilli feed and silent auction as a fund raiser to help the family. A local church has collected food for the family, and a local construstion company is doing repairs to get her home getting it ready for winter.

My sister is an injured worker, having had bilateral shoulder & carpal tunnel surgery. She was black listed at the aircraft plants after her injury and recently started a business cleaning offices & homes.

I would like to end my post by thanking everyone for your prayers.

RE: An update on my sister & family
Bummer I want you to know that I love you and your sister deeply.
I cannot, even watching patients pass away, imagine the pain of your sister finding her husband in the pasture. But I do know that after meeting her and spending time with her that she is a very strong woman. If anyone can survive this she can.

The families of the Ks hill country are a tight knit. I am not surprised that they're helping, that is their way. Such as the Greensburg tornado, more help actually came from within the state the 1st year.

I do understand having to cancel insurance policies. The aircraft company my husband works for wants to re-locate. We've changed life insurance companies several times, but less within the past 20 yrs. Dead he's worth about $750,000. and I do remind my husband of that occasionally. It's hard to balance things, decide what to cut.

She'll be okay, I look forward to the next time we can have lunch together. She's still keeping that new contract she got right?
BB

RE: An update on my sister & family
Yes, and she started working 2 days after the memorial service.

She bid the job with her husband working with her as a co-worker. After her husband died, she hired a family member to work with her, several other family members have spent volunteer hours helping out. I would love to help her with this job, but I have additional complications with the neck, afraid to do much right now.

My sister did not work for a couple of years after she was injured because she could not find work due to being black listed, she stays plenty busy now!

SHe won another contracrt near Windfield, and will start that job once she is finished with the current one.

Your right she will be okay.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
