I got hurt on the job

RE: I got hurt on the job
jlg.dolphins,
I would really suggest that you find an attorney. They do not charge an upfront fee. I tried doing this by myself, but the info is hard for us to find and interpret (at least in Kansas). I thought I knew what I was entitled to, but when I got an attorney, I realized that I was eligible for more. The attorney can advise you on work issues and take care of the w/c people for you. The attorney can protect your rights. If you don't know where to start in your search for an attorney go to the top of this page and there will be links.
I wish you the best in both your physical and addiction recoveries! You really don't want anything to mess with them.

RE: I got hurt on the job
not to be a butt or nothing....but your husbands problems are not your bosses....her job is to find work within your restrictions(she says) but in all reality she is most likley trying her best to get you to quit or refuse work so they can have a reason to let you go...so you either quit or find another way for your honey to get to work for the time being........I am not trying to be mean it is just a fact they dont have to work around your honeys job

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: I got hurt on the job
Hi again,
I think once you find an attorney...he will put a stop to the ridiculous hrs. your boss has given you. It sounds to me as if she's just doing this to try to frustrate you father and give you more grief ! Please stay in contact with your rehab strength partner.....do not have a relapse over this issue...it's not worth it. We pray for you to have strength and make it over the hump!
Take care. LillySmile

Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!!

RE: I got hurt on the job
Thank you for all the support! You are all great! I found some NA meetings that are held during the mornings so, I am gonna go to some of them. My sponcer said that even though I love my husband I have to let him be responcible for his treatment and recovery. I need to work the hours in order to keep my job, at least until I talk to an attorney. That will happen Monday I hope! Thanks again for your support! I will ask that you keep me in your prayers, I know I will keep you all in mine! Oh good news today, I got a letter from the W/C insurance comp. I am going to be getting PTD so, hopefully I will start getting my money soon, bills can't wait any longer!

RE: I got hurt on the job
jlg, you will be in my prayers. My husband is a functioning alcoholic and my sister is a drug addict. I will pray that you stay strong and in NA. I will also pray that God will guide you through all of your troubles and woes and that He will see you through, whether your woes be addiction or workers comp. The people here may not be able to help you with recovery, but they can help you with workers comp. God bless you and best of luck.

I know they cannot help here with my recovery, I am not looking for that! It does help me to talk out it though, it is just that the hours my boss has me working keeps me from going to my meetings! That is why I brought it up. But, you are right my husband is a recovering alcoholic (60days sober) I am so proud of him! Being married to an alcoholic is very hard PM me if you want to talk! I understand what you are living with, maybe I could also answer any questions you have about your sister's addiction. I will keep you and your's in my prayers for sure!Wink

JLG,

Everyone has given you good sound advise. I agree with them all you boss is just trying to push you out. Stay strong and hang in there you know the devil is always busy when you try to get away from him. You should really look hard for a good w/c attorney because I feel you are going to need one. My question is that after all you have been therough why don't your doctor just take you off. And are they still going to pay you for 8 hours or just 2?

RE: I got hurt on the job
Like I said yesterday, I have calls out to w/c attorneys. I am going to be calling my doctor tomorrow first thing in the morning regarding everything with work to see if he will take me off completely. I don't know if he will or not since it is a w/c case and they are sticklers when it comes to availability and working what you can! I have been praying to my higher power to help guide me through this and I know he is, as my sponcer called me when I was ready to say ***k-it! and relapse! So I know he is with me and he will stay with me through this! I am trying to keep in mind that I am powerless in all of this and I need to have faith in him!
