Loyalty?????????
What does the word mean to you? we have all been burnt by our employers, some of us by our Drs,our friends all thru this WC nightmare...so I wonder what does the word mean to you? have you become less or more loyal because of your injury?Do you go out of your way to be more honest at the store because WC cheated you? or do you believe you now have a pass? Are you more caring to your friends or do you put you first?just wondering......our world seems to be on a crash course to hell.....are you?
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Loyalty?????????
Am I loyal to my employer? The answer to that would be no, and yes that has changed since the injury. They are the ones who said they would never work me again after I was injured
Honesty, yes and I apply that in everyday life, always! |

RE: Loyalty?????????
Before my injury I would go the extra mile, do more then what was expected. But since then, even though my emplyer has been great, I didnt work more then I had too nor was I eager to help them out if I was off the clock.. So honestly I'm still loyal but exceptions apply... As far as loyal/honest to some of my friends no, I found out after being injured that there are true friends and there are ones that suck you dry. By meaning I have always gave the shirt off my back to anyone who needed and once I was injured very few friends would not even come over or call just to see how I was doing..... As far as an escape pass because of my injury,,,, No way.. it wasnt my neighbor or the pharmasist that caused my injury, nor is it my drs fault. But the wc system has fallen because of the imitaters that has abused the system and now were treated like we did a crime by being injured......... So to the ins adjusters/companies you will be judged and may be punnished by the number 1....

RE: Loyalty?????????
Loyal to the friends (very few now) from my former work place. Been burned by so many, talked down to, against. It's a nice hospital but if I had the choice I'd never, ever return there.
Black-listed so I'll have to go to the outlying areas to find the same type of employment. Hard not to feel bitter, resentful, mean, spiteful, revenge seeking, etc. When my daughter had her baby 8 months after I left I was shunned, hugged, back-talked, told I had no business there. Plus the comments told to my daughter left her in tears. That my former co-workers would think so lowly of me. My son-in-law told them to shut up or get out. Boy that shut them up, for awhile. Nice hospital, good place to have a baby. But if work comp goes against me on my knee I will seek out the same day surgical center to have my knee replaced. BB |

RE: Loyalty?????????
My experience through this has basically left me the same. I have always been a loyal friend, employee, wife and simply love life and others in general.
How others choose to act toward me does not compromise my free spirit of seeing good in everyone and everything. Yes, through this, my feelings have been hurt, my pride has been trampled on and my faith in others at times has faltered. But it has not made me bitter, only stronger, wiser and even more humble. So much in my life has been changed/altered due to my work incident almost 2 years ago, I refuse to add to that by altering who I am or by allowing this to change me. Loyalty to me means being loyal through thick & thin, through hard times as well as good times. Loyalty is a certainty no matter how hard or easy, hanging in until nothing is left, not giving up. EXCELLENT thread Jayne, THANKS! Ginger Let us not look back in anger, nor forward in fear, but around in awareness!! |

RE: Loyalty?????????
I wondered how others felt....This place has been a Godsend to me...it has lifted me and held me in time of trouble, unbearable pain and sorrow..it has taken me thru the death of my Father and sister, the heart surgery of my husband..the people here have been my family this site is like no other.....Thank you all.....My work friends are no more they have fell by the way side and to be quite honest I do believe I have outgrown them....Many have asked about my "paid vacation" I warn them about WC and tell em to buy Aflac or one like it......this journey has changed us all and I hope for the better....That I guess is what I really wanted to know.....How this WC journey has changed you.....some of us grew stronger in faith and our marriages...some of us lost our marriages.....I was a lucky one our marriage grew stronger.....I pray most of yours did too

RE: Loyalty?????????
I am more giving, of myself and money, (as if I had any) but MUCH MUCH more careful and thoughtful about who I will associate with much less call a friend. I have truly learned that you, Mary, Suz, and Cindy. May be my only close friends, but you all are worth more then 5,000 "people to hang out with". K
The good news is,"You can get used to anything." The bad news is,"You can get used to anything." :-) Sithie |
