RE: In A Pickle, what to do?
Bummer Knees Wrote:mY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU!! iT IS ASHAMED THAT WC, THE GREAT MEDICAL CARE WE ARE GIVEN, IS MUCH LIKE SS.....NO...NO....NO...I WILL PRAY FOR YOU AND HOPE IT ALL GOES AS IT SHOULD!!
Take a deep breath this one is long.....
History:
I was injured 2005 bilateral knees & back.
I was placed at MMI August 19th by the wc doctor on the lumbar spine & right knee, left knee 2009 at MMI.
After years of denials & delays I finally finished medical treatment, or so I thought........
The doctor appoint prior to being placed at MMI was on July 29th, at this appointment while the wc doctor was doing the exam my neck was injured in the process of the exam.
I reported the injury to the wc doctor, my attorney & my primary doctor, the injury is well documented.
The headaches started the night of the 29th and continued for weeks, my head hurt so bad I could not drive, I had trouble putting thoughts together. I still have the headaches now but not everyday.
My primary doctor checked me and my blood pressure which the norm is low was 159/120, very high for me. A MRI of the cervical spine was ordered showing significant hernation with pressure on the spinal cord and displacing the nerve root.
I have held off adding this to my wc claim as I had a mild bulging disc from an auto accident in 2007, same disc.
And........I really want to be finished with work comp.
I see the surgeon next week on the neck injury and I will be asked how this happened and if it was an accident.
I could lie and say I don't know what happened but I am one to tell the truth and when I tell the surgeon what happened my health insurance will deny paying the medical bill and say this is a work comp injury.
I've spoken to my attorney about this and he said tell the truth and we will see where this goes.
But spinal cord compression is nothing to mess with and the wc insurance company has a history, it took 36 months to get the knee replacement, 4 1/2 years to receive treatment on the back.
This is why I don't want to go work comp with the neck.
I see the surgeon Monday.........any thoughts.
And thank you for reading this long post.
