Cost of Medical Bills vs. Settlement
I was injured at work in Illinois, and the injuries have required a lot of medical treatment and an upcoming spinal surgery/fusion. The injury was 100% the fault of a third party, and I currently have a worker's comp claim and claim against the third party's insurance.
I am expecting my medical bills and lost wages to put me near the third party's policy limit, which is $250,000. My lawyers (PI and WC) believe that this case will settle and not go to court. If my bills come to the policy limits, am I left with nothing for all the pain and suffering I have been through? Anyone had a similar situation? What can I expect? |
