Question on getting workers comp
I own a tax business (c-corp) that has workers comp and liability insurance. My husband is accepting an IT consulting job as a 1099 and he's being required by his consulting company to get worker's comp and liability insurance. He's currently covered under the business insurance for the business. My question is it possible for him to use the insurance under the business to also cover him for the independent IT consulting work (that's located in a different state)?

Thanks

RE: Question on getting workers comp
possibly.
you want to sub-contract out your employee (husband) to another company that does IT work and provide comp coverage for both employments?
if that's correct you need to discuss it with your broker or work comp carrier's underwriter. if they are willing to endorse it on (depends on the state) they would need to pickup his wages from the IT work as well as from your business.
