it depends on your injury.
TTD replaces lost income while you are recovering.
rating is for those with permanent impairment.
some serious injuries result in both.

P.S.
On the other hand, under current NC law, if you cooperate with medical treatment and vocational rehab services, you can continue to draw the weekly check until you return to work, die of old age, or settle so you cannot get both regular payments and an impairment sum.
