RE: Flowers for Sithie...
Dallas - good to see you girl, hope you are well and happy!
![]() MJC - they multiply from cuttings taken as the plant grows larger or from seeds. Not all cuttings will make flowers next year but I did have a real good flower percentage vs. the number of cuttings I bought from this source. Sithie - Was never able to give it a sniff as it was in the rooting process and out of reach. went to er today and got 3 shots. Woke up for a bit but now need to lay back down, will talk to you soon Please click the link below to help provide food for homeless animals. It's free and only takes a second of your time! Monster,
Do you have any pics that you might have taken of these flowers in your yard that you might be able to post. I would love to see how large and what the plant actually looks like when planted. If this is not too much trouble for you, I know myself and everyone else would love to view pics of your flowers in your yard. I am still trying to figure what would be the best way to plant them for our southern winters......although I am leaning towards large pots. You said they do not tolerate freezing tempertures. Although I live in the south sometimes we do get freezing temps down here. What temps do you believe they could tolerate if planted in the ground? Thanks for all your help in answering my questions regarding these flowers. By the way, What do they call this flower? God Bless and take care! RE: Flowers for Sithie...
Hey Dallas, sorry to hear that. If they shrivelled and looked dry you might not have watered enough or been in an area, like up against a wall or something that got to much heat. If they turned yellow and fell off then you might have overwatered. If I could see a pick I could give you a better answer. Check the stem under the soil and see if it is soft and squishy or hard like it should be. Is the cutting that's sticking out of the soil still look good or did it shrivel. I'm making these things sound much harder than they really are guys, LOL
![]() MJC - They will not tolerate freezing weather for more than a couple of hourse especially if it's damp out. These plants can get huge if allowed to but you can also keep them at a manageable size by pruning which in turn gives you a cutting with which you can grow another plant. I will go out and get some pics now. Will try and post them tonight but I am on dial up so it takes a while to load...I'll be back Oooops, these are called plumeria. They use plumeria as well as orchid flowers to make the Hawaiin lei's from. NOW I'll be back, lol... Please click the link below to help provide food for homeless animals. The stalk is still hard and the leaves did not dry out they more like curled up and fell off- did not change colors either except the last tiny ones turned black but the tip of the stalk is green

RE: Flowers for Sithie...
What the hec did you do to your plant girlfriend, ROFL??? All I can think is stress caused by insects or you yelled at it instead of sweet talkin' it like you're supposed to do with a plant
You didn't have a bad day and come home only to take it out on poor little plant did you, ROFLMAO...now I'm still a little goofy from shots last night so you have to be nice to me today ![]() If the top is still green you are okay. What kind of soil did you pot it in. It likes fast draining soil like 1/3 to 1/2 perlite with potting soil or cactus mix. You don't have one of those water trays that keeps the water in the bottom do you? They hate that ![]() Have to go in a minute and water mine but will be back. Will take pics for MJC while I'm out there as well Please click the link below to help provide food for homeless animals. It's free and only takes a second of your time! RE: Flowers for Sithie...
Monster
I have been admiring the pics you have posted on here. They are absolutely gorgeous. My favorite is on post #19... I think it is the 4th one down (the pink and white) and was wondering what it is called and how much 2 cuttings would cost. As you know, I live in N. central TX and the boyfriend and I are renovating his grandparents house. It is an arts and crafts style home (will have to post pics here eventually). It has a big magnolia tree in the front yard, and at the bottom of the stairs to the front porch, there are 2 identical plant holders (below the lions lying on platforms). Those would look wonderful planted at the front of the house. And although they would get the early morning sunshine, they would be protected from the hot afternoon sunshine (the house faces east). My boyfriend (bless his Southern heart) is not one of those that likes to go shopping for presents (he prefers giving cash or buying online) and I know that he wouldn't have a problem paying for the cuttings or the shipping if I told him that is what I want for Christmas. And it would be the perfect gift that I could enjoy year round. Plenty of room in the house (would probably move them to the dining room as there is one wall full of windows there so they would get sunlight) during the colder winter months. Let me know, and then I can tell him I have found my Christmas present for this year. And as someone else said, no problem paying for the cuttings or the shipping and that would leave you with money for a cutting for someone else. They can consider it a Xmas present from me ~LOL~ Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |

RE: Flowers for Sithie...
Angel - I'm happy you like them so much, they bring me happiness and keep my stress level down to a dull roar, LOL! The one you chose is still to small to take cuttings from. Also right now is not the time to try and start a cutting because sometimes they root within a month or so and sometimes it takes several. To root they need lots of bottom heat and sunshine. I tried spanking them to see if that helped with bottom heat but it didn't work, LMAO...sorry, drugs are still in my system from er...bad monster, horrible joke...okay, back to plants. I think right now the only thing I have two of the same of are called Candy Stripe. I am waiting for pics to upload for MJC and can't post any other pics until those are uploaded. If the computer will hurry up I'll do it tonight...sorry to disappoint you but I don't have ANY cuttings available right now, only plants which is actually better for someone who has never grown these before (only til you get used to them though). They should come with a warning label though because once you've seen them bloom in person they are highly addictive! Ooops, I forgot to tell you the one you like is named Marco Polo
Admin - are you getting tired of hearing about these plants yet? Also, I am trying to steer people away from buying here as that was never my intention...how do I handle requests such as Angels and MJC and Sithie's? I don't want to turn this into a plant forum but I do enjoy sharing them, but I don't want to get into hot water with you either. Eeeeek, help please? Here is a link to two different plumeria forums that I am on. I am 'plumeriastix' on both sites. You don't have to be a paying member to post or read and you can get lots of info about these things and even buy plants or cuttings from various people with a bigger selection than me. My best advice is stay with cheaper plants/cuttings until you get the hang of them. These are the places to get lots of info if you want to try and grow them. You almost have to treat them like a catus, but not quite if that makes any sense! http://www.mauiplumeriagardens.com/forums/index.php? http://plumeriaaddiction.com/forum/index.php Please click the link below to help provide food for homeless animals.
