RE: Anyone here collect old Phonograph players, or "talking machines"?
ADMIN, you can take some advise I was once given. What you do with it, is none of my business. Mostly you wont take it anyway, from what I've been reading here. (Hey funny thing too how you doubted me on an earlier Patent application date when I try to tell you I was told it was 1918, wow not bad for being 1 month off from that, but too maybe when your done getting all the information on this, you might see the information I got for you come too life. Happens when someone doesn't trust another LOL)....
![]() I had always been told, the best Appraiser, is one that does it for Auction's and Auction Houses. They have the best information around. Plus, they don't just have US prices, as many use a world guide in pricing because many items do go to other countries. I too if I were you have it appraised. Many people wishing to keep their items do Insure them once appraised and they then have the proper documents to support the value. Not only that, it does help if you ever wish to sell it say 20 or 30 years down the road. Everyone sells at one point in their life. We enjoy these wonder things of the past, but there is always a time we have to let someone else enjoy them also. Me, I have too much stuff, and a lot of my stuff is just way to large. Such as I have 2 full wall units. Years ago these would be built right into walls in certain rooms of a house and such. 1 is Dated back to 1913. They too are Mahogany wood, special cut glass, curved glass. Real beauties. But to store, view and move around are a real pain, as they are full length, ceiling to floor. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |
