I might eventually get it appraised, but of course, it is going to be rather subjective. An items true value is only worth what someone will pay for it. The main issue is that these things appear to be so rare many collectors do not even know about them, and an appraiser will not have a comparative sale history to look at. Generally antiques, including talking machines, have dropped in value over the last 10 years or so. Probably a cyclical thing, but it would make a difference as well.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to know its true worth, but there are a few unique factors at play here. |
