Results of the cervical MRI
Been having cervical headaches since the wc doctor pushed down on the head while doing an exam.

My primary requested an MRI, I have posted the results below.
...........................

Here is what the MRI reads:

IMPRESSIONS:
There is a moderate left lateral protrusion of the C5-6 disc. This is causing pressure on the anterior left side of the cord. This is causing pressure and displacement of the left nerve root as it enters the neural foreman.

Thas has increased from the mild left lateral disc protrusion seen on the previous study of April 09.
...................
My primary doctor scheduled an appointment with the neurosurgeon

Guess I still am in shock with the results, I haven't decided what to do about this or if my health insurance will pay.

RE: Results of the cervical MRI
Jane I don't want cervical surgery, ever!

I am scheduled to see the neurosurgeon in 2 months (quickest I could get in) I am on a call list if another patient cancels.

Bad Boy I shared the information with my attorney, faxed him the MRI report.

My attorney said I need a malpractice attorney, he is helping me with this.

I really don't want to go that direction but this doctor was agressive with his exam leading to the injury, and yes I do have a witness to this incident.

My attorney also said we could add this to the claim, but why?
My health insurance and medicare are paying for the neck.

Question? I posted what the written report reads, is this a serious problem?

RE: Results of the cervical MRI
Jayne back in February I had physical therapy; massage, and traction.

After the above treatments my neck felt so much better........until recently.

At home I use the tens unit, the rice pack, and moist heat.

I can see where the stretching helped the neck, I just have to be careful with certian movements as it will throw me into a headache.

RE: Results of the cervical MRI
I would seek out any other alternative to surgery possible. I say this know that your cervical spine c5-c6 and L1-L5 give you problems. I also know that you don't seem to rehab well on some joints. Rehab from cervical fusion could be as long as 8 months. I would recommend better pain therapy and something else first.

I've assisted with 4 cervical fusions, two with the neurosurgeon you're going to see.
His own words were 'fusion should be the last treatment'.

But to be frank I wonder if some or many of your overall bone/joint problems are due to osteoarthritis due to your diet over your life time. Before any surgery is done once again I would recommend a bone scan.

As for adding it to work comp, wow, want to get treatment within the next year or two? Lawyer mentions adding it to the case, I'd run away quickly. Of course he'd say that, add the neck, more money for him.

Just my two cents worth,
BB

RE: Results of the cervical MRI
Surgery I do not want, but do I have a choice with pressure being placed on the cord & nerve root.

No, this will not be added to the claim, I told the attorney I want to be able to received medical treatment if & when it is needed.

I am meeting with an attorney about malpractice, I will leave it up to the attorney to tell me if I have a case.

Body Builder I will pm you and see if you are familiar with the attorney I have been referred to.

RE: Results of the cervical MRI
I would think the first item would be pain relief Proper muscle relaxants, pain meds, etc.
