RE: the coral snake
I think I would have had a heart attack.

Before I was hurt at my job we had an incident with a water moccasin coming up in the toilet. First time it was seen the Warehouse Manager was also our janitor so he was going in to clean the restroom, it was dark but he could see something in the toilet. He thought that one of the truckers hadn't flushed the toilet so he was going to reach over and flush it when the glob moved. He about died right then and there but he flushed the toilet and away went the snake. Later on that morning one of the warehouse workers came to work and he had to use the bathroom so he goes straight out to the warehouse without even saying hello to anyone (no time I guess) and proceeds to do his thing when he stood up to flush the toilet there was that snake and it scared the devil out of him. Needless to say after that I would not use the bathroom at work. I would leave and go to McDonald's. After about a week the snake finally wondered out into the warehouse and we were able to throw a box on it and call animal control. Can you imagine sitting down to do your business and a snake coming out like that? It still gives me the creeps.

RE: the coral snake
Actually Deb, I can imagine it. In Okinawa there is a snake called the taboo. The taboo is an agressive snake who feeds off of blood and meat. They do not have to be cornered to come at you. They hunt for you. When they bit, they continue to bit to feed. Most people do not die related to a snake bit unless they pass out or something like that, because they just have a hole in their arm or leg. They are night creatures. AT night they will slide up down the walls and up through the pipes in your home. Any pipes that were open toward the outside my husband covered up and checked them daily. I kept all the toilets lids closed and with a heavy box on it. I also kept the door closed to the bathroom at all times. We also included the kitchen sink, washer, and another pipes that a snake could come up in to. I never actually had a snake come up the tub or toilet, but I was so afraid all the time and completely cautious. I use to run on the track at night, but I always ran in my combat boots and made my husband go with me, because of them. I hate snakes...this is one creature that they could eliminate and I would not have a care...enviromentalist..let them go away for ever...please...Red

RE: the coral snake
I like snakes, but I can do without poisonous ones. I used to have a ball python, she was a sweetie. I am also very respectful of snakes. I grew up around copperheads and there is no way I would mess with anything poisonous. I just can't understand the people who do.
Sweet, I am so glad your family is ok. Now, no more snakes!
