RE: question for bummer
For all involved here something that most may not know.
YOU CAN WRITE YOUR OWN IEP, FOR YOUR CHILD, FOSTER CHILD, GRANDCHILD. http://www.wright's law.com I became seriously involved in my son's education, rights, etc after going to wright's law. I bought a book on writing an IEP that frankly changed my son's life. Yes you can do this, no, no one's child should ever be threatened. No parent should encounter a law enforcement officer with their special Ed child. There are so many resources out there. Find them, don't ask the schools, they don't have a clue. I ended being my son's para-educator for his last 2 years of school and you know, it made a BIG difference. Yes he was my main focus but was fair. I also over 2 yrs helped the lives of 9 other students and their parents who felt that they were helpless. So now, fast forward I'm involved again. My son is doing extremely well. If we had the money we'd have him go thru every computer machining course out there, especially catia. Drugs are an evil necessity. My son has to take anti-depressants, a standard dose But I worked with all involved, doctors, my husband and God. He's on the lowest dose possible to help him function and it is a low dose. It is so very hard for each and every parent of a special needs child/adult to think of the child first. We all saw today a single parent who confessed to killing her 2 children. No by no means am I saying that anyone here would do the same. But think, a child with special needs, one who needs to go long beyond the care of a normal child. Where would you go? Where did I go? To God, family (all who disagree beyond immediate), the trust yourself, read all that you can/ Temple Grandin, labeled severely autistic by all standards as a young child. But now a professor, a lecturer known all over the world. Seek her out, read her books, she's quite amazing We have children who are autistic of varying degrees. Where do you see that child in the future? I will tell you this, this drug nearly ended my son's life. The pulmonary, asthma, cardiac, liver, weight gain and skin problems, all this he had in the short time on this drug. Yes we knew he had skin problems, some pulmonary problems going on. But what we didn't know, his heart problems, his skin problems, his weight that would add to his asthma and weight problems. Then the liver swelling with no real answers that put him in bed for over 4 months. ANY DRUG can cause side-effects, I looked into a hair loss treatment today and was shocked about the potential side-effects. For us, my son the side-effects greatly outweighed any benefits. So I would implore you to look into any benefits that this drug might give. Then look into family medical history before considering. Joshua S.....born march 1983, has long outlived what the doctors had projected. He should of died at birth or shortly afterward with an apgar of 4. Yes he faces open heart surgery one day, if that is his choice first. His will not mine, not only applies to God but our children as well. BB |
