Constipation has been a issue for me big time. Eating properly helps. I use a 25 Mcg/hr Fentanyl patch, 5 10/500 Hydrocodone a day, Lyrica 150mg 2x a day.
I am very interested in seeing what Individuals do for constipation taking Narcotics. I feel like I am giving birth sometimes on the commode. LOL 2011 Lexus Convertible |

ya made me laugh!!!!!!!!!!!! jsut got word that my dr. is going ahead with the sugary for the broken scs so I should be off this in no time!!!

The stool softeners never worked for me either, I did and do find relief from mira-lax..

Just so we all understand the issue. Stool softeners should have no effect on narcotic induced constipation.
Read this link and scroll down to the Stimulants/Irritant section. That's what you want to use for opiate induced constipation for reasons stated previously about the bowels nervous system- or hang around with one the local irritants. |

what a hoot who knew where this thread would lead!!!!!!!!!!!! but hey we all need to share what works best for us. for me NOTHING--whenever it is time--like ya all say I give birth-(i swear it was easier giving regular birth c-section)--problem is it is usually 3 weeks--thank gosh im married cuz id never find a man on here talking bout all this. nothing helps---veges-fruit-fiber fiber fiber and yes the "guidepost needs to have more stories to read in them!!! if ya know what i mean---thanks for sharing ya all humor makes the day go by faster and nothing is better than putting a smile on someones face. I promise next time to take my thread in a different direction!!!
