3rd ESI then MMI
I saw the wc doctor today, it was a different type of appointment.
After the doctor examined me it was decided that I have a 3rd ESI, and at the return appointment I will be placed at MMI. The doctor laughed, joked, and stayed in the room talking to my sister and I about non wc stuff like having to water his wife's plants because the wife and kids were out of town. This doctor was a way different person today, when we left the office I noticed a new corvette in the doctor's parking space. |

RE: 3rd ESI then MMI
He got the corvette from his brother, paid next to nothing for it, that's the story going around the surgical clinics. His brother bought it 6 months ago but his plastics surgery business has never taken off.
Third ESI, that's the max for a year |

RE: 3rd ESI then MMI
And after the 3rd ESI I will be placed at MMI and I am ready for that.
Answer this for me Bodybuilder, why does the doctor insist on checking the range of motion in the neck when it is not part of the work comp injury? The doctor pushed down on my head to check the range of motion of the neck and the muscles went right into spasms. I've been fighting a migraine since with the tens unit being of little help. The doctor knows I have a hernation of the cervical spine, and I have restrictions on flexion and extension of the cervical spine, we've discussed the cervical spine injury several times at past appointments. Sorry for the vent, I just don't understand this........ |

RE: 3rd ESI then MMI
Did you ask this so pleasnt doctor, what do you then do, when the medication from the ESI does wear off, and they sent you down the road? What you going to do then, did you ask, since you will be placed at MMI? It can get worse, way worse, as time goes on, for it is said, back pain gets worse before it MIGHT get better.

RE: 3rd ESI then MMI
My doctor, once gave me, a pre-printed sheet of paper.
Here is what was on it; It's your body and your safety: Write down the questions you want to ask before you go in to the office. Most people have trouble remembering simple details when they go to the doctor's office due to stress. Have someone write down the answers as those can be forgotten as well. Questions that should be considered with a diagnosis or a treatment include: 1. Why do I have this? 2. What is the cause? 3. How did you diagnose it? 4. What are my treatment options? 5. Do I have any and what should I consider when I make a choice? 6. What are you going to do today? 7. How long will it take and what should I expect? 8. How will I know if I'm getting better? 9. What changes will I experience? 10. What are the side effects of the treatment? 11. Are there any things I should avoid or should I be cautious? 12. When do I come back to be rechecked? Most important question to ask; Ask about new Corvette, and how they like it....? Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. RE: 3rd ESI then MMI
This doctor has always had a habit of 'checking' other body parts.
I recall telling him when I saw him 8 yrs ago that the problem was my knee not my hip or my back. My husband's comment was that perhaps he was 'laying on hands for healing'. But I don't know why he did it to you. When you see him again establish limits. BB |

RE: 3rd ESI then MMI
This doctor very well, might have Bummers past Medical records is a good reason as to why. Then place such in the report, outlining what was work comp, what was not work comp. It's possible.

RE: 3rd ESI then MMI
The cervical spine injury is part of the auto accident, the doctor know this and yes he does have the medical records the insurance company has shared with him.
As for a plan, I will meet with the attorney before the next appointment, and this will be discussed. My primary care physican (osteopath) tells me I am looking at future surgery of the spine, he says it is a matter of time before surgery will be required. It the doctor tries to close out my medical I will return to court I will present medical evidence from one of the best neurosurgeon's in this part of the country. (An appointment I paid for myself) |
