Thank God there were no hidden cameras
I had been home 2 days post op my total knee replacement and had my bedside potty arranged very nicely in my bedroom. Beside it I had a snack table of which accomidated my pretty lil toilet paper, baby wipes, lotions and of course a magazine as we all know after being on these darn meds, trying to convince our bowels to move is like pushing tree bark through a pin hole, it takes time.

Anyway, I woke up around 2AM and had to tinkle. After about 10 minutes of getting out of the bed and hobbling over to the potty, I sat down to relieve myself, that was pretty easy but as I stood up and was pulling my bloomers to their proper place while holding onto the potty, it tilted. I was thrown off balance and fell backwards. All the way down I was saying "honey, honey, honey" calling for my hubby. He jumped up from a dead sleep and as he rounded the foot of the bed he slipped and fell. He managed to crawl to me where I was laying there with the potty and my freshly tinkled tinkle all over me. All he could manage to say was "thank God, you didn't leave any tree bark behind! I sat right there and scrubbed my carpet and between the two of us we managed to get ourselves off the floor, I was not injured at all, except my pride but my poor hubby went a week with a very stiff back.

Lord help us all but it sure feels better to laugh than to cry!!!

Have an awesome day all!

LOL thank you Jayne! Nope I wasn't hurt but had to convince my hubby of that because lord have mercy I was on coumadin at the time and was warned to stay away from sharp objects and FALLING.

Thankfully my home nurse was shecduled to see me that day and my hubby agreed to not speed me to the hospital until she examined me.

It really was a funny situation but could have been quite serious, I certainly was a lucky girl!

I hope my lil mishap brightened your day if only in a minor way!!!

Jayne, I hate taking new meds for any reason. A few years back my GP insisted that I was experiencing a bit of depression and prescribed Prozac, ohhh boy! After about a month my friends started asking me if I had turned to alcohol for assistance. The Prozac completely changed my personality from a very emotional, caring person to someone that simply didn't give a crap, I became emotionless.

Hang in there with your new meds, atleast until you can't stand it anymore and then contact your prescribing doctor for adjustments. I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time, life can really be a hard challenge at times.

Let's see, what can I tell you about me? I love meeting new friends as well and it absolutely makes my day to brighten the day or others. I'm 45 years old, no children (never received that blessing) but we do rescue exotic birds and give them good homes, we love them very much.

7 months before my injury I took a little retail job to get me out of the house and moving, before then I worked from home. I had been diagnosed with a thyroid condition and over the course of 2 years lost 150 pounds.... YAY! so this job was to keep me active and losing my last 15 pounds. But needless to say, a small incident led to a much need knee replacement.

I'm doing very well but soooo sick of the whole W/C process. I have been out of work for over a year now and waiting to be placed on MMI (soon) to close this chapter of my life.

Hopefully I have not bored you to tears LOL but please do tell me more about you!!!

RE: Thank God there were no hidden cameras
Mine has had it's ups & downs.

I had the complication of scar tissue, scar massage and water therapy helped break up the scar tissue.

I've had over a 3 inch difference in the size of the knees.

The ESI (steriod injection in the spine) I had 3 weeks ago helped a lot with the pain in that knee.
