Hi all,
I haven't been on here in a long time, I pray everyone is well, and able to tolerate their daily pain and discomfort. I have missed keeping up with my friends ! I wanted to let you know, that finally, my MSA determination is underway I know this is a lengthy process, but at least it's more movement than I've seen in a couple years My injury was in 2005! The settlement process is apparently in motion!!I am still in quit a bit of pain, this is why I haven't been on the forum in a while, as I cannot tolerate to sit at the computer for very long. I have a killer HUGE muscle spasm/perpetual knot that i have been getting injections in...sometimes it works for a couple months, sometimes not at all. This is a not at all time. The knot is near the surgery site .This is in addition to the painful shoulder joint and arm as well. I am only allowed to have injections every 4 months minimum. It's also terrible hot and humid here, as I can imagine it is in your areas too...this heat and heavy air does not mix with a heart disease person at all ! I stay in the ac most of the time. I have to as breathing is difficult to say the least! I will let you know as things develop. Please saya prayer for me, and I will continue to pray for all my forum friends as well. Take care, and be well as you can! ((Hugs)) Lilly Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! Hi Lilly, so nice to see you.
Has any of your treating doctor's ever checked your Cervical Spine for any bulges or anything? If not, might be something you may ask them to do such as a MRI. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: It's finally underway !
Hi BBBB !
It's nice to hear from you too! I had an MRI last year looking for back problems, and nothing was found. This knot is the size of 3/4 a golf ball, and it's a real stinger! I just had a massage 2 days ago, and she worked & worked the area...and it will not relieve. I even took a muscle relaxer about an hr prior to the massage. It was still there when I left. Sometimes the injections work very well....2 times ago I got one that relieved the pain completely for about 2 months....but the knot itself does not go away. There's nothing like moist heat on a sore spot, when it's already hot as he!! . Ice does nothing but make it ache. I mentioned the possibility of getting a shot of botox in it, to the PA when I was last there....she said it could not be done at their office, but was something to think about.....well, she apparently didn't know, as I never got an answer from her. Maybe she's still thinking??!! HA. Next time I go I'll ask for my appmnt specificly with the treating doctor & not his PA and see what he suggests. Have you ever heard of someone getting botox in a muscular spasm before? Do you have any other ideas? This seems to be right on the edge of the scapula. Lilly

RE: It's finally underway !
My Injury was in 2003. In April 2009, We had a Mediation and a settlement was agreed upon CONTINGENT that the MSA was approved by all parties. The IC had the MSA done by there third party vendor. The MSA came back higher than what they wanted to pay so my case is still not settled. My needs are met and I continue is this WC Swamp.
Good Luck; Be sure to look at your MSA BEFORE it is sent to CMS for approval. The IC will try and get a low number MSA by CMS. CMS might catch it but they might not. 2011 Lexus Convertible |
