Barefoot Executive ......There ain't no Easy Button
In the past I noticed others thinking about starting up their own business because of certain physical limitations and the all too problematic re-entry back into the workforce. Inadvertently, I happened upon this site while retrieving site info from one of kates funny photos. Smile Anyway, I thought this website and video to be very enlightening and wanted to share with those that might be interested an honest "Heads Up" before taking a leap into waters unknown: http://barefootexecutive.tv/easy-button/

RE: Barefoot Executive ......There ain't no Easy Button
And so very true. If any person thinking of, starting a Business isn't going to cost them money up front, and for a year or so, they best not jump into it. Then, it needs to take guts to make the leap, being prepared to work at it 24 x 7, willing to take on the new stress, and work at it working. Let any of those things go, they let the new business go also. But, yes, it always takes money first, and a supply of money for some time before it can even stay open. Doesn't even matter if it sounds cheap to start and run, it still will take money to do it. There will always be problems. Plus, once they start it, they have to be ready for the long haul before seeing the money profit, yet such profit may not ever be what they expect for some time to come, as it may only hold it's self up out of the red by a few bucks for several years.

I have been told, the best business is to open up a Pizza joint, keep it going for a year or so, make it work, sell it, and start another one. Keeping the trend going. I heard there is profit in doing it only in that fashion though. But, look how many of those have gone up. Have to find a place with only a couple in the area, and move quick before others pop up.

Another one is, the person should find things that the public truly does need to use such items, and work it from there. I do mean the pulbic needs to have these items. Such a thing can work. 1 wild guess to what the public needs is Toliet Paper. Can you just think of opening up a place that just sells toliet paper, at discounted rates. Might work...Area and location is the main factor always.

RE: Barefoot Executive ......There ain't no Easy Button
I can attest to this. My husband and I married at 22; while he was trying to start up a business with his dad. So much for his college education (Forestry). LOL!!!

He had a TR6 to drive, and I had a beautiful new '76 Firebird. We had to sell my car to pay the first tax bill. There was no take home pay for almost two years as every cent went back into the business. We lived on my paycheck and counted every penny.

Now, 34 years later, his business is still going and we have 8 employees that we are responsible for. His dad passed on a few years back but we retired him long before that. We feel our first responsibilitiy is to make sure paychecks are handed out every Friday. This is a very small business, but we also pay health insurance for those families; and help them out when they have a major crisis happen. They are our family.

God is good to have taken care of us. We have never gone hungry.

My husband still goes in every day at 7 a.m. and doesn't get home until 6 p.m. or later. He is a very hard worker, a good man, and I hope that he is able to retire before we are too old to travel and see all that we want.

Rambling.............But thanks for the thread! Tongue

Let Go, and Let God......
