Had surgeon consult
I had my consult today and figures there is no need for surgery at this time.. He was concerned though with the latest rfa with the pain clinic. By looking at all my exrays/mri/ct scans and reports he can not come to any conclusion as to why they were in my l3-l4. He has been noticing the mis-haps from many patients that have been to the northern area pain clinic. He was amazed I lived through my mva and also noted between my hip and pelvis my spine has taken a abnormal shape. He feels I need to continue with pt but not until they can controll my pain,(by continuing with the Wausau area pain clinic, getting the fra's done that I was supposed to have.) So now I await the 16th of July to see my treating dr for refferals.
His nurse had asked me if I had a ime done recently, I said no. She says your almost 3 years out and says dont be surprised if they set you up at put you at mmi. This dr does not allow ncm's to be present, lol she had a long drive for nothing.... |

RE: Had surgeon consult
Since RFA's are short lived effective at best and are known to cause significant worsening in some patients, why has there not been consideration given to an implanted pain med pump or Spinal cord stimulator ? Or has the "pain clinic" not finished ratcheting up the bills yet ?

Or has the "pain clinic" not finished ratcheting up the bills yet ? Hit it right on the head, my recent pain clinic is done ratcheting.... The surgeon today said the same thing, and also said that if I continue to have the the next 2 levels done (rfa) that if it didnt last long that he says the Wausau pain clinic does alot of the stimulators.. Even my dc has suggested the same and hope now maybe I can get the propper care.. I do feel as that pain clinic was just milking the system and my chiro better start doing the propper paper work per wc, or I wont be getting tratment there as well, unless I pay out of pocket... I talk often with my adjuster about my situations more then my ncm. So I know what goes on with some drs and wc and whats required by state law. And so far my dc has went beond the allowed visits without due justification (propper reports).. I am sad but relieved to some point about not needing surgery at this point. But on the other hand was hoping for some reasoning and hope. |

RE: Had surgeon consult
I have had RFA done for Pain Management since 2006. I have had some amazing results and some let downs. When it works, It last up to 18 months.
I would rather have the nerve burning than a implanted med pump any day. My surgeon and PM doctor both agree. Remember, RFA is pain mangement. 2011 Lexus Convertible |

freebird Wrote:I have had RFA done for Pain Management since 2006. I have had some amazing results and some let downs. When it works, It last up to 18 months. Thanks Red, BBBB, I also agree Freebird but first they have to get the correct nerves.. I have had alot of injections/epidurals and not once did they do the l3-l4 as to inject that site for a tool for just cause to burn them nerves. That pain clinic is 40 miles north of me and since I have lost faith in them and my treating drs agree they screwed up, I will no longer continue there. They have agreed to have me go to a different clinic which is 70 miles south to continue getting the correct rfa's done. I have discussed this mess with my lawyer and he is looking into a possible mal-practice. Even though I feel they were trying to help me, the simply screwed up and wont admit it... And as far as .......Remember, RFA is pain mangement...... what do you mean by that..?? Do you really think I dont know what pain mangement means..?? But just to clue you in I do know and your partialy wrong here in our town there is a dr which is in a private practice who does every thing that a pain clinic does but my treating dr would not refer me to him...... |
