Severe Anxiety and WC
My job is so extremely stressful that I find myself suffering from more anxiety than ever. Besides that there's low engery, lack of tolerance, getting extremely overwhelmed to the point that I feel sick. It also causes memory problems and confusion. Many times I scream in the office when I'm alone because I can't take it.
I have never used wc in my life. I live in Ohio, do you think since it's mental/nervous and not physical it's treated the same and I can receive wc benefits? I can't get FMLA because my co. is breaking the law and won't provide it. That's another story. But at this moment I feel like I'm in hell and if I don't stop working very very soon I don't know what's going to happen to me. I do have a therapist and I'm on meds from it. But it's not a cure all. He also stated that this job is a bad job for me. Thanks in advance. |

RE: Severe Anxiety and WC
can you find another job? mental stress can be worse than physical but proving it is very hard.....good luck
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

But with the economy it may be hard. I'm not stopping though. I did talk to my therapist and an attorney and the latter stated briefly that it should not be a problem but that he would get back to me. |

How long have you worked at this place of employment?

RE: Severe Anxiety and WC
"Under Ohio workers’ compensation law, for a claim to be allowed, a physical injury or disease, whether caused by external accidental means or accidental in character, must be sustained in the course of and arising out of employment. Therefore, if no physical injury or disease exists, then no workers’ compensation claim exists. Additionally, Ohio law specifies what may not be an injury, including self-inflicted injuries, injuries sustained due to horseplay, mental health conditions without a pre-existing physical injury or disease, natural deterioration or pre-existing conditions.
http://www.ohiobwc.com/basics//guidedtou...injury.asp however your memory problems may be physical and that would allow qualification. you might want to seek the advice of work comp atty. any condition requires medical evidence before comp claim will be accepted. what does your doctor say? |

RE: Severe Anxiety and WC
Thanks, my new counselor, I don't think she knows anything about wc. She did indeed tell me to apply for SSI though. That can take time and I can't work and apply unless I make under $1000 gross a month. Which means I'd have to find a pt job. I'm between a rock and a hard place. Too bad my ailment is not physical. All I can do now is pray. Unfortunately I'm getting sicker by the day. I will ask the attorney I talked to about the memory thing and see what he says, thanks so much.

RE: Severe Anxiety and WC
I'm curious as to what kind of job is so stressful? Is it the classic overworked after downsizing problem ?
