How long now?
I was wondering once the adjuster says your injury is compensable how long there after do you receive your back pay check for time missed from work? Also how soon do the payments start from wc instead of SDI payments? Oh I am in California....

RE: How long now?
generally takes about 2 weeks to start payments.
you are likely not going to get full payment as they have to repay SDI-- you can't get both for the same period. |

RE: How long now?
Thank you for your reply. I know I can not get both but for the time missed from work for dr visits I am to be reimbursed for correct???? If so is that what is going to take 2 weeks or is this for the payments to be transferred from SDI to WC payments?

RE: How long now?
no, not reimbursed.
leave time is not disability although you can request sick leave/vacation from your employer. you can tally the hours missed and you get 1 day of TTD for every 8 hrs. they are separate payments and you have to request in writing. there is no transfer of payments. the comp insurance carrier is not the same as EDD. they will contact EDD and reimburse them for any duplicate time and send you the balance. it will take approx 2 weeks. P.S. you can get mileage for medical treatment. the form is here http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/I&A_mileageForm.pdf more information in the fact sheets http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/iwguides.html |
