doctor wants to write final report!

hi Iam IN CALIFORNIA,had an appointment with my primary doctor.
this is the doctor my attorney reffered me to more then YEAR AGO.
he tells me that he is ready to write the final report,
it seems to me that he is rushing for a settlement.
Iam still in A LOT OF PAIN,still depending on medications.
for the pain down my leg,I dont feel any improvement since the surgery.
I had a level 3 laminectomy-diecetomy..
doctor feels this is the way Ill be for the rest of my life.
I dont know what to believe anymore,do I tell him is ok
to file the report or can I expect more treatment
what interest would he have for my to settle my case?

If the doctor isn't suggesting more treatment, and you haven't asked if there is more that can be done, then the doctor will say your MMI. Meaning nothing more can be done.

final report doesn't necessarily mean the end of care; it may mean maximum recovery.
doctors are required to report on workers status.
failure to do so will get them removed from the carrier's medical provider network.

Being made MMI isn't necessarily a bad thing so don't panic. It means you are at "Maximum Medical Improvement". The MMI report will state your status, as 1171 as indicated, and whether future medical may be needed. If he says yes, you will most likely return to that doctor on an as needed basis. In my case, I report every 3 months for a follow up.

You can dispute the MMI status and have your attorney request an AME "Agreed Medical Exam". Then the AME will determine your status.

I look at being made MMI a step in the right direction.
