God has a reason
We broke into laughter during the service much to the dismay of the pastor, even my brother-in-law laughed. During the service we were interrupted by woodpeckers, 4 of them. Every time the minister started to talk, rat-a-tat-tat, I don't know why but after the 5th time in a row people started giggling. But then it dawned on me, woodpeckers, my sister loved woodpeckers, Woody as a kid, then pictures of them, statues. We were being sang to by wood peckers in her memory. Within a few minutes of realizing it was wood peckers everyone knew. Everyone remembered her fascination with wood peckers. Folks I'm talking special order wood pecker bedding, etc. I guess the wood peckers loved her too.
Tonight we're at Gardner State Park, Concan, Tx. It's so beautiful here and once again, wood peckers. Old cabins here, tall, old live oak trees, haven't been here in 20+ years. If anyone wants a beautiful place to go this summer in western Tx then Gardner State Park is the place to go. God has a reason, I'm so happy she's at peace. So from now on every time I hear a wood pecker I'll think of my sister. She got a woody stuffed animal when she was about 8 yrs old. She loved that thing, she kept it in a glass case at home, her grand-daughter now has it. I hope the rat-a-tat-tat serenades me to sleep tonight. I just had to share, turning in early, had about 6 hours sleep in the past 3 days. BB |

BB thats awesome...the night my Daddy died I was on the porch talking to Red and a bright shooting star streaked across the sky.....My Daddy was always looking at the stars at night he loved them......I knew it was him going home

That is a beautiful story, that was your sister and God's way of letting you know she was Ok and happy. What a wonderful memory to have.
