DipWeed..
I feel so funny calling you that lol.... When I was a teen that was the "in" word for name calling. As far as the names of the insurance company, It's Ace American. But, I havent dealt with them yet, Ive been dealing with the tpa(third party admin) and that is Frank Gates Service Company. My rep from the TPA, has been very good to me. But she doesnt have the last word, if she did, I would have been covered and not fighting. As much as many people say the company you work for has no say in the outcome of your benefits, I find in "my" case for this not to be true.

If I can help you with any of the Michigan Laws or help you in any other way, feel free to email, PM, post it here. As busy as I am now a days, I'm never to busy to help out a friend.

RE: DipWeed..
thats the answer i feared...
The actual ibsurance carrier for my w/c is ACE, they passed the claim to the heartford claim exchange, and Specialty risk services doing the case management. so far, things are going ok, I just wonder how they are going to handle it when they hear that my doctor ordered me off work one month after the surgery, and that is only an estimated date. It will be another 3 weeks before they think about begining PT on my sholder. Hopefully it goes well enough that I am able to return to work for extreemly light duty beginning around the start of PT. If work will accomidate, I'll be back in a heartbeat!

BTW, Thats y i chose dipweed.... I was always called that in school Tongue I use it now because it doesn't bother me at all.

RE: DipWeed..
I dont know if you know much about me or my injury. I slipped and fell in december of 05.... My company didnt file with the state for many months that I had injured myself at work. All my treatment has been covered under my own personal insurance. When I fell, I dislocated my shoulder, had a couple of labral tears and fractured humerous head. Surgery was performed in July 06, returned to work 11/06. Shoulder started dislocating again in December at work while I was giving directions to a customer. Went off work again in January 07, had second surgery in March 07, started PT shortly thereafter. I have a few restrictions left and some permanent damage. I'm still off work. My dr said I could return to light duty only, my company wont allow it. They wont allow me to return until I'm 100% better. That will never happen. Since, Ive been using my left arm/shoulder for the last 20 months or so due to the injury to the right shoulder, my left shoulder is now injured. Surgeon says I will most likely have to have surgery on it, but refuses to do it until I can manage most things with my right arm. Which wont be for about a yr. (according to him). Which is fine with me. 2 surgeries in less than a yr was enough for me. lol

I have not received any benefits since Oct. Thankfully, I had sick pay and vacation time that carried me for a few months, but now its all gone and I'm relying on family for loans. My next check up isnt til the middle of September, I know I wont be at MMI, so I won't be returning to work then either. That would take me off work for 9 months as of then. They say I'm still employed, but sure I wont be returning to work there. Which is totally fine with me. I don't honestly think I could do a good job for them anymore, the trust and loyality on my part is long gone.

Well thats it in a nutshell lol....

Good luck with everything.

RE: DipWeed..
I hope my experienceswith my employer are a more positive one. I do, however, have a little leverage with the company. One of the female employees was injured in a near fatile motorcycle accident. Aaccording to the president they are "taking care of her and her family" through all this... AND they are leaving her job open indefinately. My brother is also a team leader in a different department, and I'm fairly certian that they know that blood is thicker than money, and if an extreem injustice is done too me, he will be seeking different employment to.

My injury was a "Left shoulder instability" due to the fact I had a partial dislocation when a fixture broke off of the table. I was assembeling a fitting onto a part, and it gets 130ftlb of torque, and I only had a 16 inch long wrench to tighten it that tight. I was pulling with all my might when all of a sudden, BANG the bolt holding it all to the table broke loose and all came at me (about 80 lbs of aluminum) I stumbeled back, and cought myself on workstation behind me.
I reported it after about 20 min, because I started getting sore... waited a week to go to clinic as the pain was not subsiding. They put me on light duty and PT for 3 months, no improvement, only getting worse... WC denied first request for surgery, second request was worded a little different, so was approved. Just had surgery 7-26-07 to repair torn labrium and torn ligaments... nothing broken, nothing else was torn inside.
