RFA.
I have had 2 sets of facet injections, 1 back in NOV and 3 weeks ago. Both times the gave me about 50% relief and which they want to do the rfa... I know what the term means but have not heard if it is similar to facet injections. And does this last forever or do the nerve endings heal back..?
I know some have had this done so could someone explain the procedure..? Although this is from the pain clinic but my Phisitrist wants to do an updated MRI and send me to a surgeon for consult.. And in the mean time 6 more weeks of pt were ordered for my neck and low back issues. |

If effective, the neurotomy should provide facet or sacroiliac joint pain relief lasting at least nine to fourteen months, and sometimes much longer. After this period of time, however, the nerve will regenerate and joint pain may return. Success rates vary, but typically about 30% to 50% of patients undergoing this procedure will experience significant joint pain relief for as much as two years.
