RE: Heaven is........
Tuffy I do like the Freemont Street area.
Last summer the city was celebrating the summer of 69 with musicians and shows daily on Freemont Street, I've stayed twice at the Golden Nuggett. Two years ago I stayed at the Monte Carlo, just after it reopened from the fire. |

RE: Heaven is........
The Trolly go's from Casino to Casino, They can pay one price and ride the whole route , or go from Casino , get back on and pay again, which can be really expensive. The Trolly only runs to the Stratisphere not all the way down town. But they can take the city bus downtown and back..... But I wouldn't suggest walking much in that area , it can be unsafe at nite. Freemont Street is safe....
Bummer I love Vegas, Have seen most of the headliners and a few others, I know my way around on and off the strip. Have been to the Dam several times, Rode a paddle boat on Lake Mead, rode the river taxies on the Colorado, Have done tours of Red Rock Canyon, and Grand Canyon. Etc and still haven't seen all there is to see. Like Disney World, Vegas is always changing...... We stayed downtown my last trip, but I like the Strip.... Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |

RE: Heaven is........
We are staying at the Sahara, we are right next to the monorail, there is a bus for 5 bucks a day or a taxi, but today we walked quite a ways, did our shopping for others, and mom was right I found a shoe store. Tonight we are going to Circus Circus and spending time on the midway and riding the rollercoaster....

RE: Heaven is........
Becca, The stratisphere is within walking distance from the Sahara It has a great Roller coaster at the top of the tower, and take the escalator upstairs , there are many shops of all kinds up there and there Buffett is better than the Sahara You can also walk out the back door of the Sahara to the Hilton, a really good Buffet The Star Treck experance is there, You can meet Quark, and take pictures of others from the series. There is a gift shop, donut shop ice cream etc. And nice grounds. if you girls go out on the Strip, Go to the Flamingo, and thru the casino to the pool area in the middle. there is a pond, and all sorts of wild life, ducks Koi fish, swans, penguins and of course lots of Flamingos. Beautifull. How many days are you going to be there??? You gals are at the far end of the strip, There is not alot of things to see within walking distance..but the city bus is right outside the front door...

RE: Heaven is........
I rented a scooter when I stayed at the Monte Carlo. I found most of the strip to be accessible.
Freemont Street is the old part of Vegas, the Golden Nuggett is accessible but not many other places are. |
