PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Post: #11
RE: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
I also have a spinal tumor, mine of the bone marrow at T-12, and after extensive testing I have learned it is of "benign process"

My wc injury is of the lumbar spine, bilateral knees, & right arm.

When the insurance company learned of the tumor they tried everything they could to delay & deny approval & treatment of the back.

My attorney first filed on the back Nov 2007, and just last month the judge approved treatment of the back only to have the insurance company file an appeal 2 days later, so now I wait.

I would suggest to start looking for a wc attorney, and provide any documents you have for the attorney.

Mr Belt has been recomended, (if he lived in my area he would be my attorney).

Another suggestion is to file for Social Security Disability if you are unable to work.
This can be done online at SSA.com.

RE: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
I have had Lower Back Surgery that has Failed due to Scar Tissue, but that Doesn't Mean that the Same will happen to You. I want to make Sure and Clear Up one thing for You, a Herniation is not a Tumor, it's the Pulpus from the Middle of Your Disc that has Pushed itself to the Outside of Your Disc probably from the Fall. Now if it is Moving Inward Towards the Spinal Canal and Cord, You could Find Your Self Paralyzed Some Day should it Compress the Spinal Cord. You need a Second Opinion from a Good Dr. of Your Choosing, Ask Your Attorney about that. You May Very Well be in a Situation that the Surgery May not Stop the Pain, but can Stop the Possibility of Paralysis Later! Please Keep Us Updated!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

RE: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
My opinion and surgery needs for you.

You have a tumor. This tumor is said to be going into the spinal canal. This isn't good, if you just let it go, and again the (%'s) Percentages of having the surgery.

So here is where you at. It's a dam if you do, a dam if you don't situation. Meaning you can refuse the surgery, but, what IF the tumor grows? You need to learn all your Nerves run though the center of your spine from the Verabre's to a body part, then up through the center of the spine, up into the Brain. If the tumor grows, in the Cervical spine, pushes in to far, you may allow it to cut off more body functions like legs, bowel, urine flow, kindeys, heart and what ever else. Possibly stuck in a wheel chair for life or even Death. Now knowing this, you then ask your surgeon if this is possible, never take just the word from another. Once the surgeon/Doctor explains to you what I had wrote, tell me you wouldn't want the surgery then.

Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor.

RE: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
Welcome to the forum Misterman!

Too bad we all had to meet this way though! We all have a couple things in common.... work injuries, and our patience tested by wc.

Any surgery can be risky with good, bad, or indifferent results. This is a very personal decision, and a hard one to give the "nod to" . I agree w/ Badboy.....the tumor is already putting pressure on something it shouldn't...and may only get worse in time...which can make the surgery even more risky. Please make sure you have the best doctor/surgeon in the field before you commit though.

Good luck and prayers for a great outcome! Lilly

Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!!

A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless!

RE: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
GOT A DECISION IN THE MAIL TODAY... REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND IT...ANYWAY I AM REVIEWING WITH MY ATTORNEY...I WAS GRANTED MY CLAIM BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY ONLY HAVE TO PAY PARTIAL DISABILITY....IT SAYS THAT I AM GRANTED PARTIAL FOR 500 WEEKS AND THAT MY MEDICALS HAVE TO BE COVERED....RIGHT NOW I HAVE AT LEAST $50,000 IN MEDICAL BILLS AND NO WAY TO PAY THEM...THE SURGERY IS AT LEAST $45, 000 AND THE MONIES THE JUDGE IS AWARDING ARE NO WHERE NEAR EITHER OF THOSE AMOUNTS....I HAVE NO INSURANCE BESIDES PUBLIC ASSISTANCE AND AM CURRENTLY UNDER THE CARE OF A PHYSCIATRIST, PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR, AND MONEY IS SO TIGHT RIGHT NOW...ANY INPUT ON THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...I THOUGHT I WOULD BE OFFERED A SETTLEMENT OR SOMETHING...THE JUDGE OUTRIGHT SAID THAT I AM STILL SUFFERING BUT ONLY GAVE PARTIAL BENEFITS???? I MAY HAVE TO FILE BANKRUPTCY...THANX IN ADVANCE FOR ANY AND ALL INPUT...
