Good news, I think
Hi all, as you know I saw my Dr. last week. He told me I need part of my hardware removed on the right side, and he wanted to check out the scar tissue. I was expecting a long wait from WC to get approval for this. My dr's secretary called yesterday evening. WC approved this and were looking at April 19th to get it done. I'm both happy and terrified at the same time. I will finally get some answers and god willing some pain relief. I just wanted to thank all who have been there to let me vent and cry. I'm glad I've found this site. I don't know what I would be like now without it. Once again thanks.
Kit 6/97--Discectomy L5-S1. 3/09--Discectomy L5-S1 (failed). 6/09--spinal fusion L5-S1. This year who knows? |

:)What happy news, kit.....wishing you the best with the surgery and recovery......will send some prayers up for a successful surgery and full, speedy recovery.....hopefully this will give you pain relief.
God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

Thatas good news Kit, I think I would be less pain if they could remove mine, but they wont I had 12 fractures just to the left side pelvis and they are woried about being stable...
I dont remember what your hardware consist of but afterwards be carefull and baby it a bit unless your DR says other wise. |

Thanks. I am looking forward to this, but kinda scared at the same time I hate surgery. this will be the 4th time in my back at the same spot. I hope to get some pain releif from this, but I'm going into it knowing the possibility of that not happening. What is really scaring me is that WC is being so agreable to me and my surgeon. Makes me think they are lurking around the corner waiting to spring something on me.

first of all congrats on getting the approval..second the surgery is nothing compared to the actual fusion just get really sore where they have to go through the muscle and that only last 3 days or so..i mean i was out doing yardwork just yesterday one week after surgery..good luck and pls keep us posted

May the Surgeons Hands be Steady, and Your Recovery Quick!! And I Hope They can Help with the Scar Tissue!!
Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |
