i'm in Texas.I was given a 10% MMI from my treating doctor. the state appointed, and i'm sure the ins. co. chosen, MMI doctor gave me a 5%. the same appointed doctor saw me in november 2011 with no rating at the time. can i appeal his decision and request a second opinion from a different appointed doctor? they justed stopped my comp pay after his decision and so along with that my attorney as well. any help with this issue?

sounds like you've had a required medical examination doctor selected by the carrier and approved by the commission after a designated doctor has performed a maximum medical improvement and/or permanent whole body impairment exam.

did you have a designated doctor exam?

he didnot do the same exam the selected doctor did.basically just a office visit.he is my "treating doctor"

When you get the report, it will state how long you have to appeal the rating. Yes you can apeall it.
