feel i'm being forced to retire
I'm in CA.
I decided to file for my calpers disability retirement today because my ex-employer gave me my medical benefit through June, then Corba. I'm 57 and had no plans to retire, I'm just trying to save my medical benefits. i have a lawyer, I'm P&S, 20% disabled per QME. I am going to file for SDI because the QME didn't mention several body parts. So the lawyer will pursue another QME, I'm pretty sure. Did I screw up my w/c &/or SDI case by getting ready to file for retirement? I'm afraid what little money is coming in will stop while I wait for the disability retirement to begin coming in. Thank you for any information! |

RE: feel i'm being forced to retire
whether SDI will pay benefits to retirees is unknown. you would have to contact them about their rules:
http://www.edd.ca.gov/Disability/ WC medical and permanent disability are not affected by retirement plans. |
