elbow problems
I woke up a few mornings ago with an achy elbow, stiff and hard to move... I blamed it on the damp weather or I slept wrong, either way I wasnt to concerned.. Each day that goes by it gets worse, now today my forearm and hand has swollen, its to the point I cant sleep and have a real hard time picking dom up because its my dominant arm and the other was injured in my accident. We drove to the walk in clinic but there was 14 cars there and cant sit for 3 to 4 hrs waiting so we let.. Every one tells me its tennis elbow and the problems match it perectly but it very far from being over used and had done nothing that I can pinpoint to it..... I have tried ice,,,,,,forget that,,,,,, it hurts worse. Heat feels better but than it swells to the point it hurts to move my fingers... I cant take it anymore, but I hate to go to the er over an elbow....it just sounds lame... Anyways, any one have any secret remmidies I could try.... besides taking more oxxies..........

RE: elbow problems
Bronco do you walk with a cane? Using a cane puts stress on my elbow. I am one with a history of elbow problems.

I fell at my daughter's 6th birthday party, broke the ankle, both sides and shattered the elbow. Had surgery 24 hrs later.

Received the dx of ulnar nerve entrapment last year. The hand surgeon is testing to see if I need surgery again for the elbow. No way do I want that, and will do what I can to prevent that from happening.

The hand surgeon did x-rays last fall of the hands and arms and that it when I learned I do not have a radius head, it was removed with the previous surgery only the surgeon never told me about that.

One thing the doctor did tell me is to try not bending the elbow, keep it straight.

RE: elbow problems
I got one of those tennis elbow braces from walmart and it really helped. Place it below elbow...there will be a little square or rectangular padded area on the inside of the thing. If I remember right you place that on the area that's hurting when you tighten it up. You want it kind of tight but not cut off the circulation tight if that makes sense. Hope this helps and that you feel better soon.

RE: elbow problems
Now that you mention it, my headaches are comming back.. Its almost been a year since I seen my chiro, I bought I cheap but light massager I have used on my neck and heat.. I have been able to keep them away but maybe I should go back for a few adjustments... I dont know if thats causing it but I'm in tremendous pain and the pills just dont cut it at all... I have been taking my perscribed Ibuprophen 800mg and it seems to help . I went to bed with an icepack and managed to sleep on and off untill my wife jumped up and realized my icepack made it to her side of the bed.......lol.. i'm hoping I can wait it out til mon morning because I dont believe in going to the er and have the ins charged the out rageous price that is charged for an er visit... If I had a meat saw I would just hack it off just above the elbow.........

RE: elbow problems
Bronco neck issues can cause severe headaches & migraines like no other.

Can you use a tens unit? My tens unit has kept me out of the ER, using it early on gives me the best relief.

And yes the elbow problems are only made worse by cervical issues.

Here I am........lol.

Well I left the elbow to heal on its own and I gues it wasnt a good idea... It obviously wasnt neck related, the swelling had got worse and was red hot and couldnt tell where the joint was anymore... My mother was rushed in to the er sun night for respitory problems again. Come to find out the er dr put 8 other patients in the hospital for the same thing... Its in our air, the trees were budding with a foot of snow still on the ground and with in a few days all the snow was gone leaving the ground full of mold.... She is back at home again at least for now, but while she was there one of her drs looked at me and said your elbow needs attention now... I guess with all the stress and worring about my mother I didnt even know I was running a temp almost 102.. I had an infection again with cellulitis over the right olecranon, with no cuts no bumps it had got infected and they say it may have been from a spider bite....... Who knows why, I have been eating right, using anti bacterial soap and still end up with the infections.... My foot still has not healed from the last infections, I asked the dr why.. All he says I had thae bad mersa infection in 2007 and seems thats my path now...... I want answers, and it seems no dr here has them..........
