RE: Settlement Process Questions
Just rereading that and if you got TTD for the time you were off there may not be any wage loss. Maybe I'm reading wrong and you had a time they didn't pay you I'm not sure. Also if your lawyer helped you get back pay he will get a cut of that. Hope you have full healed if you did sign a C&R

I filed for work comp benefits in july 2010; I never received any benefits because the insurance company disputed my claim. I had a hearing set for the end of august 2011, but before we even got to court they offered to pay my claim ( which was from july 2010 to the end of my TTD august 2011) for unpaid benefits and medical bills if i signed a " compromise agreement." I signed this agreement about 3 weeks ago at my lawyers office; it was my understanding that my lawyer then sent it to the judge to sign off on the agreement. I have not received anything in the mail or spoken to my lawyer since. My lawyer was entitled to 20% of the total claim, plus 500$ in costs. My lawyer told me that once the judge signed off on the agreement the insurance company would be notified and they would have 21 days to make payment. I've been waiting now for a few weeks, and was just wondering how much longer I could be waiting to receive my check. Does anyone have an idea of how long I could be waiting? I am patient, patient enough I dont want to call my lawyer and bother him with this question - but it is on my mind so I thought I would tell my story here in hopes someone might be able to give me an idea.

RE: Settlement Process Questions
Its too hard to say how long it could take for the judge to sign off on it. I don't know what all it takes for him to put a pen to it but I'm sure he is in no hurry

RE: Settlement Process Questions
i was under the impression that the judge has no time limit; my lawyer just said that they normally do it between 2-4 weeks... but you guys are looking like you are right.. so ill just wait. its been 3 weeks and I havent gotten anything in the mail saying the judge has signed anything.. it sucks because its been over a year since my injury and I have not had any pay; but what else can I do? Has anyone else had a similar situation as mine? I would like to hear how other peoples cases went.
