IME for SLU..
It will be one full year from my latest surgery, in July 2011. Between both hands, a total of 10 procedures including 2 joint replacements, one thumb completely fused, the other half fused and some other stuff, so all joint stuff in thumbs! (. Yesterday in the mail i received an appointment for an IME for a SLU initiated by the IC (obviously). I contacted my attorney who thought it was a bit odd that the IC was initiating this as he stated they (IC) usually waits for the IW doctor to do their SLU exam first. He said it is not unheard of but "most IC" that he has dealt with in his career, sit and wait. Anybody ever hear of this type of thing or has anyone gone through it?
another question please. I am being sent to the same IME Dr. as I have been to 4 times before, who has always been professional and agreed with my OS surprisingly. The IME Dr. actually told the IC they better authorize an additional surgery/treatment and not send me back to him for another evaluation because it is related and will, if not soon (meaning then), eventually cause problems and need attention/treatment. Wondering if anybody had such a great experience with an IME Dr. and then went to same one for a SLU and they went in the total opposite direction in their findings? Looking forward to any feedback you may have. Thanks!

I have not heard of it or gone thru it. I have not had such a great experience and did not go to the same one for an SLU in which they went in the opposite direction. |

Sonny
The forum is slow on weekends and holidays, no need to be rude just because there has not been a response to your thread. You are very fortunate to have a supporting IME doctor looking out for your best interest. I've been to 10 IME appointments, some bad, some very bad, and three IME doctors who were supportive and looking out for my best interest. |
